TITHES AND OFFERINGS

I want to talk a little bit about something different today that I have not discussed before, and that is about tithes and offerings. I want to ask my readers an important question that many are familiar with, and that is on the topic of tithes and offerings. Are tithes and offerings to the church necessary for the “salvation” of the people who go to church each week? Are they necessary? I believe they are necessary for the “salvation” of the staff of the church, such as to pay the salary of the church pastor, secretary, phones, utilities, etc. Yes, they are necessary for the “salvation” of the church . But are they necessary for the salvation of you and me? I think to answer this question we must know what salvation is , and whether the church can meet our needs or not. The spiritual needs of people who go to church vary greatly from one individual to another individual. But whatever it is, if salvation is what we want, and if only Jesus or YHWH can offer the salvation that we want, g...

ANY DIFFERENCE?

“Then the LORD  saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually”  (Genesis 6:5). This was a text that I quoted from the Bible during Noah’s time before God destroyed the world with heavy rain; "for after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made." (Genesis 7:4). “And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.” (Genesis 7:12). That was the end of all living things during Noah’s time. How is it going to be different from Noah's time and when Jesus returns in the future? I hate to say this, but I think it will be similar - the LORD  saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually”.   I don’t believe it will be much different between then, now, or in the future un...
Are Little Children Welcome in Heaven? November 21, 2021 Nicodemus, a well educated Torah scholar, a wealthy Pharisee, and a leader of the Jews, came to Jesus one night and said, “Rabbi, we know You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus responded, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again .” (John 3:2-3);  Nicodemus then asked how can a man be born again when he is old? Jesus explained that in order to be "born again," he must, in short, be a changed person - like a newly born little child. Why like little children? In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." The kingdom of heaven belongs to little children, Jesus said. Why does Jesus love little children? Do you want to know why? It is because little children are innocent. They have a clear con...
THE 1, 2, 3 OF SELF-REDEMPTION OF SINS December 19, 2021 1. "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, "leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” (Matthew 5:23-24) 2. "I, [even] I, [am] He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.” (Isaiah 43:25) 3. "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy [against] the Spirit will not be forgiven men."Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the [age] to come.” (Matthew 12:31-32) More than 2,000 years ago the Holy Spirit spoke to us through Jesus instructing us to self-redeem our sins (Matthew 5:23-24). But no one listened. No one paid any attention. An...

THE TRUTH ABOUT SALVATION

There were a lot of people who have talked or written about salvation that I have heard or read from reading the Bible, going to church, watching the TV, or listening to the radio. But that is not the reason why I am writing this article. What I want to write here is what Jesus has told us about salvation. Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, came to Jesus one night and asked Him some questions. Jesus answered and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3. Nicodemus then asked Jesus how can an old man be born again? That was a good question - how can an old man be born again? I believe what Jesus meant with the words "born again" is that we have to be completely changed like little children. Little children are innocent in their thinking, and they like to share. They are not selfish. I have some things that I want to share with my readers also. They are found in the following links- (a) https://learn.micr...

THE RISKS OF BEING A CHRISTIAN

Today I will write a topic on the risks of being a Christian. Being a Christian is like a job or occupation that we do each day, such as a firefighter, a policeman, a physician, a construction worker, a soldier, a husband, a wife, or even a child. A Christian has a job to do for his Boss. And what is that job? That job is to glorify His name. Help finish His job on earth. It is a job that Christians do daily for God the Father. Every role that we play, however, in a job or occupation, has some risk, small or big. What is the risk for Christians? The risk for Christians is that people will hate us.   Jesus said in John 7:7, "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil ." Does the world love us, or does the world hate us? According to Jesus, the world hates us. In Matthew 5:10-12 Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed  are you when they revile and ...

CONFUSED CHRISTIANS

Most Christians today, if not the majority of them, are by definition confused Christians. One of the main reasons why they were confused, I think, was because they tried to memorize the writings of the Apostle Paul without having a clear idea of what Paul was saying. They do not have a clear picture of the writings of the Apostle Paul because Paul wrote like an experienced lawyer, and most preachers are not experienced lawyers to interpret Paul's writings, but they love to think that they know everything that Paul wrote or said because it doesn't seem too difficult to comprehend. What most Christian preachers or ministers know about the Bible can be summed up in just one word - grace . They were trained in Bible schools or seminaries to become followers of Paul. So they surround themselves with other Paul's followers who are always looking for excuses to receive “grace” from God without understanding what grace requires of them. The main requirement for receiving grace f...
