Jesus said, “ Why do you call Me `Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? ” Luke 6:46. Readers, Jesus asked us why do we call Him ‘Lord, Lord’, and not do the things that He told us to do? We do what the apostle Paul told us to do, don't we? Paul said, “For by grace you have been saved through faith , and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.  Many, if not most Christians believe that they are saved by faith. They followed Paul, a human being. Are we, or are we not saved by faith? Or are we saved by works, doing the will of God the Father ? Do we love Paul more than we love Jesus? Why? Readers, do we know why Jesus said, why do we call Him ‘Lord, Lord’, and not do the things that He told us to do?” Because He wants us to do what He tells us to do.   This morning I want to talk with my readers about certain things that Jesus said. I also want to discuss with my readers why Jesus said those words. Here is the first. "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” Matthew 5:17. Readers, why do you think Jesus said those words?
