FATHER, FORGIVE THEM

Brothers and Sisters. Do you remember who said these words, "Father, forgive them"? Yes, it was Jesus. He asked His Father, Yahweh , to forgive those who prosecuted, persecuted, beat, and hang Him on the cross. What an unbelievable sight to watch. Jesus died as a Martyr to defend us, and to free us from the strong grip of Satan. Jesus was crucified not because of any wrong doing, but because Pilate has surrendered to public pressure to release a prisoner during Passover festival, just as the Christian church has surrendered to the business pressure to abolish all of God's laws and commandments despite what Jesus has said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, sha...

WHY? WHY?

Readers, today I want to ask you a simple question. But first, I want to give you the facts, and nothing but the facts so you can give me a straight answer. Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34. In John 13:34 Jesus said that He gave us a new commandment . That means that all of God’s commandments that we read in the first four books of the New Testament, except John 13:34, and in the Old Testament, are old commandments that were given by God, YHWH , given by God through the Prophet Moses, and given by the other Old Testament prophets inspired by God. In other words, all the commandments listed in the Bible are the commandments given by the Father of Jesus except John 13:34. Therefore, doing the will of the Father of Jesus is absolutely mandatory and critical for our salvation as we can see Mathew 7:21-23 . Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' sha...

A NEW COMMANDMENT

This morning I want to discuss with my readers about a new commandment that Jesus gave to us in John 13:34. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another ; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” My grandson works for a Pentecostal church in Indonesia. He believes that the new “love” law of Jesus replaces all the previous commandments that God gave to the prophet Moses on Mount Sinai many centuries ago. I have no clue who taught him about Jesus' new commandment in John 13:34 that replaces all of the old commandments. I asked myself if it is true that the new commandment of Jesus replaces the old commandment that says, for example, “You shall have no other gods before Me” , Exodus 20:3, how can it make sense? Why? Because loving one another is not the same as worshiping or idolizing the apostle Paul, and betraying Jesus, the Jesus whom we say has died to pay for our sins. It just doesn’t make any sense at all! The new commandment of Jesus repla...

THE WILL OF MY FATHER

Today I want to talk a little bit about why Jesus repeatedly used the words “the will of My Father” in His conversation that is often quoted in the Bible. Jesus said,  "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven . Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Do you know why? I believe the reason why Jesus stated “ the will of My Father in heaven” was because He wanted to make a clear distinction between His will and His Father’s will. He wanted us to understand why the difference. Why? First, because His will may or may not be worded exactly the same as His Father’s will. Second, He knew that some of His followers will abolish His will (words) after He died on t...

CONCLUSION

This world we live in has a long history since the time of Adam and Eve. I thank God for giving me the privilege of being a small part of the story of Adam and Eve. I came late, but He graciously did not put me last . I am grateful to my oldest brother, Bill Khoe, and his wife Corry, who have given me a good start in life. I thank God for giving me a mother, Lo Nio Injo, who has never stopped loving me till she passed away years ago. And I am looking forward to the time when I will reunite with my loved ones when Jesus returns, and never be separated again! And I hope the same for you too, my readers. I believe that we are now close to the end of time, very close. The disciples asked Jesus, “ Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what [will be] the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.” Matthew 24:3-4...

GOD IS LOVE

Today I want to discuss with my readers a subject that I have not heard preachers or pastors talk much about, in church or anywhere else. Most of the conversation that I heard in church was about love , Jesus is love, God is love, and so on. But what I have frequently seen in real life is not evidence of love. What I have read is not evidence of love. What I have seen and read is the opposite of love. For example, God said, "You shall have no other gods before Me. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God , visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Genesis 20:3-6. Many years ago I used to wor...

WHERE IS YOUR PROOF?

Brothers and Sisters. Do you know that most of today’s Christians believe that after Jesus died on the cross Christians can do anything. Why? Because they believe that Jesus’ death gives them the right to live in sin under “grace”. Before Jesus was crucified they had to follow the law. After Jesus was crucified they no longer have to follow the law. Why? Because they say that Jesus had died to pay for their sins. And since Jesus had died to pay for our sins, we have no more sins. And to make sure that we have no more sins they abolished all of God’s laws and commandments so there is no more law to violate, and no more sin to commit. And they think that they are “smart” because they were able to deceive millions of Christians to believe them. Let us see what the Bible says. God said, “ Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth , and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually”. Genesis 6:5. Readers, why do you think God said ...

MISSIONARIES

I greatly admire when I see young kids wanting to volunteer to go overseas as missionaries. And I admire their parents too for their willingness to sacrifice their kids for a very worthy cause. Few people receive the gift to help others for free. Volunteering to help people who are in need is a rare gift that we don’t often see. I am reminded of this story in the Bible. “ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? " He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading [of it]?" So he answered and said, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and `your neighbor as yourself.'" And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Then Jesus answered and said: "A...
