CAN THE LAW SAVE US?

Th e apostle Paul wrote that the law can’t save us. “ Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. Wrong! Knowing what is good and what is bad is not a sin. But by the deeds of the law , when we obey the law, we will be justified in His sight. What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." Romans 3:20,7:7. It is a sin when we disobey the law. Readers, there is no law, none, that can save us. Do we understand this simple logic? Obedience to the law, however, can save us. Traffic law on the streets and highways cannot save us. But obedience to the traffic law can definitely save us. And obedience to the gun laws can save us for sure. What happens to our logic? Do we not know what the word “deeds” mean? If we say we understand, then why do...

THE THIEF ON THE CROSS

The apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith , and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works , lest anyone should boast.” Who inspired Paul to write this text? I believe it was the thief on the cross who inspired him. The thief has faith, no work, but is saved by grace. The apostle James disagreed with Paul. “What [does it] profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works ? Can faith save him?” James 2:14. No, faith alone, without work, cannot save us. Why? Because work is evidence that we have faith. Obedience to work is evidence that we have faith. The story about the thief on the cross is a RARE exception. And Paul was wrong when he used a rare exception to apply to his theory, “For by grace you have been saved through faith , and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works , lest anyone should boast.” I know that the apostle Paul is wrong. The Prophet John in Reve...

THE LAW

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. That’s the law. If we don’t do the will of Jesus’ Father, don’t waste our breath praying. Save our oxygen. He will not listen to us, because Jesus never knew us, lawbreakers. Only Satan will hear us. Jesus wants nothing to do with those who practice lawlessness. And God the Father does not want to have anything to do with lawbreakers either. And neither should you. Stay away from lawbreakers regardless of what color of robes, suits, or hats they wear. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not com...

BE YE PERFECT

Jesus said, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. Can we be perfect? Can we be perfect as God the Father is perfect? Yes, I believe we can if we COPY Him. We can if we know how to copy Him. And this article that I am writing is to share with you my dear readers how we can copy Him. I believe the only way to copy Him is by following His commandments; by obeying Him. Jesus obeys His Father. And we should obey or COPY Jesus’ Father too if we want to be perfect as His Father in heaven is perfect. In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven . "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness !'” Re...

CREDIBILITY ISSUES

The Prophet John in Revelation 20:12-13 wrote about his vision, “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works , by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works .” None will be judged by their faith only, none!  The apostle Paul, however, wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9, not from a vision that he he received from God, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works , lest anyone should boast.” Readers, I want to ask you a question, who is more credible, the apostle John or the apostle Paul? John wrote from what he saw in his vision that he received from God, and I don’t know who gave Paul his idea, salvation by faith and not...

WHY DO WE HATE THHE LAW?

Readers, have you ever thought about why we hate the law? Why do you hate the law? Why do we hate the Ten Commandments? If you had asked me why many Christians hate the Ten Commandments, my answer to you is that it offends them, or they get offended.  They see their ugly face on the Ten Commandments mirror. I do not hate the Ten Commandments. The law guides me on my way to heaven. No, it doesn’t offend me.  Without the law, I know nothing. Without the law I might elope with somebody’s wife and feel nothing about it, and you might elope with somebody’s husband without guilt either. God has given us the Ten Commandments for a good reason. And here’s why I believe God gave us the Ten Commandments. He wants us to be perfect.  Jesus said in Matthew 5:48, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Perfection is a lifetime effort, work, or struggle.  We can achieve perfection only if we are obedient to His law. If we have tried our best to d...

FATHER KNOWS BEST

Readers, I woke up this morning with the intent to write an article that I have never written before. The title of my article is Father Knows Best. No, it’s not about me. It’s about my Father in heaven. It’s about our Father in heaven. It’s about Jesus’ Father in heaven. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven . How do we do the will of Jesus' Father if not by work? "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness !'” Matthew 7:21-23. They were charged with breaking the law. It has nothing to do with their faith. Readers, do we know what the will of Jesus’ Father is? Do we know what the will of our Father in heaven is? Do we know what the original will of our...

WHO WILL GO TO HEAVEN?

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Readers, Jesus said that unless we do the will of Jesus’ Father in heaven we cannot go to heaven. That is the standard of admission, except for the one thief on the cross, a rare exception. Why were these men/women of great faith rejected? Because they were deceived by Satans who appeared as humans. How is that? Because human agents of Satan made sure that we would not know what the will of Jesus’ Father is. What is the will of Jesus’ Father? “ but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:6. That’s why these men...
