SEDATIVES

Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Happy Sabbath. Today I am going to write about a topic that I have not written before and that is about the sedative effect of grace. We don’t feel the pain of sin because the anesthesia or “grace” numbs the pain. I received the inspiration to write about it last night before I went to bed. And I am introducing this subject to you now so you know what grace is. Grace has the effect of a strong sedative. It numbs the pain of sin. We may not feel guilty at all after we have hurt or offended a neighbor or after we have committed a certain sinful act against God. You may not know this, or you may not have thought of it that way. But yes, when we are under the influence of sedation we can either feel no pain while committing a sin, then wake up as if nothing has happened, or we might never wake up, like the popular singer who overdosed himself with sedatives. Grace will make us feel no pain, spiritually, and little or no remorse; and while we are under sedation of "grace" we can do nothing to change. How can we change when we are sedated with "grace."? Why would we change if we feel no pain of sin under the influence of a sedative called "grace"? And God can do nothing for us either if we have decided to sedate ourselves with plenty of false “grace”. We may be urinating in our pants, or defecating in bed and we would not know it because we are under the sedative effect of a potent drug. We are under a very strong sedative - grace. Whose grace was it? I am sure it wasn't from Jesus. I am sure Jesus was not the inventor of that false grace. Have you ever thought of it that way? We cannot change when we are under the sedative effect of grace. We keep doing the wrong things because we believe that we are doing the right things under grace. What is the reason for the change when we believe that we are saved by grace, and not by work? What is the reason for change when we believe that we are right? What is the incentive for change? None, there is no incentive for change under grace. We can live in sin until Jesus comes from heaven with millions of His angels. But by that time, change is too late! Is that our plan of salvation? No, my brothers and sisters, please don’t do that. We must be smarter than Satan. We must be smarter than Lucifer with God's help. Our Father in heaven is smart. And we received His DNA to fight Satan, as long as we don’t play dumb with Him. Jesus wants us to be smart, work, and don’t play dumb with Him, never!

Here is what God wants us to do in Matthew 5:30, "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Do you know why He said that? Because Jesus sees sin as a life-threatening cancer disease. It can spread to other parts of our body and can finally kill us. Is that not what we do with cancer, cut and remove the diseased parts from our body and not simply sedate or make it go away with “grace”. In Matthew 5:29 Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Do you know why Jesus used such strong words? Do you think He was exaggerating? Or do you think He was kidding? No, He was not. He sees sin as a cancerous disease, and if not treated immediately it can spread throughout our bodies and can kill us. Ask any surgeons, and they will agree with Jesus on how to treat a cancerous disease - cut it off! But we think that we can sugar-coat sin with grace instead of repentance and work? Do we know that grace will keep us sinning until Jesus returns, or until we die? For example, my church pastor eloped with a younger woman and left his old wife behind for no good reason. He is a "grace" believer. He believes that God will forgive him under "grace". True, God is forgiving, and all that is good about Him, but He is not ignorant that the preacher tried to fool Him. He could apologize to his old and new wife, and reconcile with his old wife. He stayed with his younger wife until now. Jesus said to follow the Law and we will live. Luke 10:25-28

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading [of it]?" So he answered and said, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and `your neighbor as yourself.'" And Jesus said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." Luke 10:25-28.

Jesus said to the lawyer and to us if we want to live DO what the LAW said. The law that we must follow comes from God and not those that come from the Apostles that contradict Jesus, Judas Iscariot, Lucifer, Martin Luther, Roman Emperor Constantine, or from any Bible teacher who is delusional and corrupt.

Human beings can be wrong. Even angels can be wrong. But Jesus is faithful to His words.

Brothers and Sisters. it all comes down to this. Is Jesus going to take us with Him to heaven? Or is Paul going to take us to heaven? Follow whoever is going to take us to heaven, or to hell, whatever is our preference. God gave Lucifer, Adam, Eve, and all of us the freedom to choose. Pray to God day and night and ask Him to help us do His will.
