LOGIC
According to Webster’s dictionary, logic is defined as “a science that deals with the principles and criteria of validity of inference and demonstration: the science of the formal principles of reasoning”.
In 1 Kings 3:9, we read that King Solomon asked God for wisdom, "Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge these great people of Yours?"
In 1 Kings 3:9, we read that King Solomon asked God for wisdom, "Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge these great people of Yours?"
God heard his request and gave Solomon the logic and the wisdom that he asked for so that he could differentiate between good and evil in reigning over his people.
Logic is a gift from God. Wisdom is also a gift from God. Not everyone is born with the same quantity and the same quality of logic and wisdom. Some have plenty of logic, some have adequate logic, and others have little or no logic.
Similarly, God gave us His gift of talents, one or more different kinds of talents. Some people make good use of their talents, some do not use them wisely, and many squander their God-given talents.
Why is logic so important? Logic is employed in human reasoning. The devil deceived Adam and Eve using the same formal human principles of thinking but based on the devil’s reasoning.
We fell into temptation because we used our usual way of reasoning, but excluded the will of God. Anytime when we do not use the right kind of logical reasoning and do not include the will of God in our thinking, we will surely fail. We may not get fired from our employment, or we may even get promoted in our job, but that is not our primary goal in life. We should always ask if what we plan to do is the will of God? I read someone wrote that without logic there is nothing! The logic that we follow is what He told us to do. If God tells us not to lie, we should not lie. If God tells us not to steal, we should not steal. That is His Law. And that is also our Logic.
We live in a country that is based on laws. There are City laws, State laws, and Federal laws. I have divided our laws into three main divisions of laws. In Muslim countries, such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, they have additional laws, such as religious laws that citizens have to comply with as well! No one in Saudi dares to change the Muslim religious laws or the laws of the Nation.
If citizens of our country don't comply with the laws of our country, they either go to the City jail, State prison, or Federal prison. In some Muslim countries, if citizens don’t comply with religious laws, they get beaten with thick leather belts, or with something similar to that.
The Kingdom of God also has a set of laws. You can find them in the Scriptures, the Old Testament, and the New Testament.
What is the main purpose of the Laws of the Kingdom of God? I believe the primary purpose of His laws is to prepare us and to test our obedience to His commandments before Jesus returns the second time. It is to test whether or not we are willing to do the will of the Father!
Adam and Eve lost eternal life because they were disobedient to God. Lucifer and millions of his angels were evicted from heaven because they too were disobedient to the Father's will. Millions of disobedient people drowned and perished during the big flood during Noah’s time.
Our fate will be determined by our deeds while we are still alive. Adam and Eve’s fate was determined by the decision that they made while they were still in the Garden of Eden. Lucifer’s fate and the fate of millions of his angels were determined while they were still living in heaven but before they were kicked out from heaven. The fate of the millions who drowned during the big flood was determined when they were still alive on earth.
God could make a last-minute effort to change the hearts of Adam and Eve; God could have done a last-minute persuasion to change the hearts of Lucifer and millions of his angels. And He could miraculously change the hearts of a few of the millions of those who drowned during the big flood. He could, but He did not do them. He wants people to voluntarily obey Him and pass His test of obedience to live with Him in His Kingdom.
God is not interested in changing the hearts of those who have already made up their minds to refuse to do God's will (commandments)!
If we violate the laws of our country we will go to jail or to prison. If we violate the religious laws in Muslim countries, we will get beaten with thick leather belts. But if we violate and ignore God’s laws, Christian Biblical scholars taught us that we will go to heaven. A young Christian pastor recently said to me that he is under grace, and not under the law. What kind of logic is this?
