WHO ARE THE LAWS FOR?
Today I want to discuss with my readers the Laws found in the Old and the New Testaments. I feel that some readers do not clearly understand the objects of His Laws. Who are the Laws for? Some think they are for us, Christians; some believe they are for everybody, and some others think that the Laws also applied to Jesus when He was on earth. I think God's laws are for every one of us. He created us. How do I know that He created us? I know He created us because we can think. No other creature or living being on earth can think like we humans can. God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in His [own] image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Genesis 1:26-28 The Laws that I am talking about are the Laws and the Commandments that God the Father and God the Son gave to us. God’s Laws in the Bible were given to us and for us. Since Christians agree that the Laws were given to us and for us, and not for God the Father or God the Son, we will be held responsible for the observance of His laws, and no one else. We, who called ourselves Christians. The first question that I want to ask is are we observing His Laws? Are we keeping His Commandments?
Jesus said in Matthew 5:17,18, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” This text tells me that His Laws are permanent. Why did Jesus say that He did not come to change the laws? Because He knew that some of His followers will change the Laws and blame Jesus. I talked with a Christian friend not too long ago and I asked him why is he not obeying God’s Laws, and He answered because the Laws were crucified when Jesus died on the cross. Do you see what I meant, He was blaming Jesus for His unwillingness to follow the Laws of God. Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
How is the Law fulfilled? The Law is fulfilled when we DO them!
The only way that the Law can be fulfilled is if all of us DO them, no other way. Jesus’ death on the cross fulfills a prediction only about His death, but it did not fulfill the Laws or the Torah Laws!
What are the requirements of the Laws? In John 14:15 Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” That is what the Law wants us to do - keep His commandments!
When we keep His commandments, we are fulfilling the laws that God and the Prophets have taught us to do. As you can clearly see, keeping His commandments has NOTHING to do with His death on the cross, nothing! So, be careful what church you go to. Some churches exist only for the sole purpose of making money. They have no interest in your soul. They will tell you anything that will tickle your ears. Select your In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” In Matthew 24:24,25 Jesus said, “False christs and false prophets are going to appear and will produce great signs and wonders to mislead, if it were possible, even God's own people. Listen, I am warning you.” How do these false prophets mislead people? They mislead people with the words that come out of their mouths. Matthew 12:34 says, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."
Finally, I believe that the Sacrificial Law is not for Jesus only. Yes, He died for us, but that is not the end of the Sacrificial Law. It ends when we all do our part when we sacrifice ourselves for Him and others. That is what the Sacrificial Law is all about. Satan wants us to believe that the Sacrificial Law merely has to do with burnt offerings, to distract us. No, it doesn’t!
The Sacrificial Law applies to all of us until the end of time.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:20, “And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.“
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.” Matthew 24:21-22.
THANK YOU JESUS. I will always love you!
