THE ONLY WAY
In Matthew 5:48 Jesus said, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Perfection, therefore, is not a choice. It is a mandatory requirement.
Can we be perfect? Yes, we can. And why does Jesus want us to be perfect? The reason why Jesus wants us to be perfect is because the standard of heaven is perfection.
How can we be perfect? What do we have to do to be perfect? I believe that the only way that we can be perfect is by keeping His Law. The only way that we can be perfect is by doing His law. The only way that we can be perfect is by memorizing His Law. The only way that we can be perfect is by living what He wants us to do. That, Brothers and Sisters, is the only way that we can be perfect. Living what He wants us to do is the standard of perfection. And that is also the only way that we can be saved - do His will, and not do our will.
In John 14:15 Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Keeping His commandments is doing His will. Doing His will is proof that we are obedient to Him. Doing His will is evidence that we love Him. Doing His will is evidence that we are faithful to Him
In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'”
These Christians in Matthew 7:21-23 can say `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'”
Do you know why God rejected them? Because they do not do the will of the Father. Millions of Christians are not doing what God wants them to do. They think that what God said is hyperbole or spam. What is the will of the Father? The will of the Father is in His Law, what He said, and what is written. Most Christians don’t care what they are because they see them as hyperbole and spam. And what is left of His words, they flushed them in the toilet.
In Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches [them], he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Have we been teaching God's law to others? Have we, Bro? For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Jesus said that He came not to abolish the Law or the Prophets as millions of Christians have been doing.
The scribes and the Pharisees know about the Law, and they teach the Law, but they do not do what the Law requires them to do.
Most of today’s Christians also know about the Law, but they too do not do what the Law requires them to do. They abolished the Law. They ignored the Law altogether.
Jesus said, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Jesus said in John 10:27, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
Are we following Him, or are we following where the money is? Are we following Him or are we following where the excitements are? Are we following Him, or are we following the world?
