OBEDIENCE
I want to ask my readers a question. Why do you think Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden? Some of you may say because they ate the fruits of a tree that God had told them not to eat. Others may say because they were disobedient to God. You are all correct. Adam and Eve lost eternal life because they were disobedient to God. They did not do the will of God. They did their own will, which was contrary to God’s will.
"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23
Why do you think many will be rejected in this scenario? They do not do the will of God. Millions or billions of souls perished during the big flood during Noah’s time. Why did God kill them all? They also did not do the will of God.
Only Noah and a handful of his family members were saved. Why were they saved? Because they did what God had told them to do.
Lucifer and millions or billions of his angels were thrown out of Heaven. Why do you think they were kicked out from Heaven? They too did not do the will of God. From Adam and Eve to Lucifer they all lost eternal life because they too did not do the will of God.
Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” John 14:15,21-24.
Jesus said that He will come to and make His home with those who love Him and keep His words. Jesus’ promises in John 14:15, 21-24 are good until He returns for the second time, and beyond. He will deliver His promises to every believer who loves Him and keep His commandments. If you say that according to the apostle Paul His promise in John 14:15, 21-24 is good only until Jesus was crucified, then both you and Paul have made Jesus a liar. And you better have a good defense to prove your allegation against my God when He returns, that He is a liar. And rest assured that Paul will deny knowing anything about what you say or would say about him when he is asked to testify before God.
Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17-18.
What do you say? Did I hear you say that you will not keep His commandments because your preacher said that God’s commandments are dead or no longer valid after Jesus was crucified on the cross? I hope you know what you are doing. That’s all I will say for now.
