WHAT IS GRACE?

Many Christians in the world do not know what grace is or means. They think that grace is an excuse . They think that grace is an excuse for doing something that God forbids, such as adultery. They think that they can commit adultery under grace. They think that they can live in sin under grace. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. No, Brethren, grace is not an excuse for doing anything that the Bible prohibits us from doing. In fact, there is nothing that allows us to do what the Bible prohibits us from doing. Nothing, period. Read here what Jesus said, "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lu...

THE LONG ROAD TO HEAVEN

Today I want to talk a little bit about the road to heaven. We know that heaven is far apart from the earth. But do we know that the long road to heaven can also be extremely perilous? Assuming that all Christians will go to heaven someday. When they are 500 feet up on their way to heaven, gravity suddenly pulls them down to earth and they fall head first against the hard concrete surface below them. Can you imagine what kind of head injury they will suffer? They might crack their skull open, or break their neck. Isn't that an awful sight to see? Is that not a very risky journey? That could happen to Christians who believe that they are saved and that they are on their way to heaven, but the gravity of sin can suddenly pull them down, and they fall straight to the ground, crack their heads or break their necks. Is that not a possibility even though we think that we are saved now? Yes, it could happen because Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, "But he who endures to the end shall be ...

WHERE ARE YOUR CHILDREN?

Many years ago I used to hear an announcer ask this question on the radio, “It’s ten o’clock at night. Do you know where your children are?” I don’t know who sponsors this nightly service, but I think it is publicly paid to remind parents to look for their children when they are not home by a certain time. Some parents do not care when their children return home. It’s too bad that I don’t hear messages like that on the radio anymore. Don’t we care anymore when our children return home at night? Don’t we care anymore about our children? I do not know. And I wish some rich donor would give money to local radio stations and ask a similar question on the radio, “Do we know where our parents are”? Many Christian children do not know where their poor elderly parents are, or how they are doing. They rarely call them, visit them, or help them. Many parents are poor, and they don’t have enough money to buy what they need each day. Are Christian children abandoning their parents? One of Go...

ZERO TOLERANCE

Jesus said, "If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than have two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.” Matthew 18:8-9. Do these two verses above sound to you that Jesus has any tolerance toward sin at all? If you say no, then why do you think people say that Jesus will allow us to live in sin under grace? Whose grace is it, Jesus’ grace, or  Paul’s grace? I heard someone say from Paul. So, are we living in sin under Paul’s grace? Are we? Jesus said, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. Does this verse sound to you that Jesus has any tolerance for sin? If you say no, then why are people still living in sin? Are they living und...

TWO LAWS

Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is [the] first and great commandment. "And [the] second [is] like it: `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Jesus also said, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28. This is a personal promise from Jesus. He said His sheep hear His voice, Jesus knows them, and they follow Jesus. What are the conditions? The conditions are that we hear His voice, and we follow Him. Do we hear Jesus’ voice? Does Jesus know us? And lastly, do we follow Him? If we follow Paul, like many Christians do, we should make an arrangement with Paul through faith to give us eternal life so that no one can snatch us out of Paul’s h...

GUILT

Today I want to talk about guilt or guilty conscience. I believe that the topic of guilty conscience is a very important topic that every pastor, minister, and preacher of every denomination must preach about in church on a regular basis. Why is it important? Because the Holy Spirit works in us through our guilty conscience. Are we listening to our conscience? Or are we ignoring our guilty consciences? No, we should not! Our conscience is the voice of the Holy Spirit. We should not ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit. We should never ignore our guilty conscience. We should never disregard it. Our guilty conscience tells us that we should not do what we have just done. How do we know it? THE LAW. Anything that we do against the Law will trigger our guilty conscience unless we have the habit of ignoring the LAW for years, then nothing will trigger our guilty conscience anymore. Keeping the LAW is the best thing that we can do for ourselves. When our good conscience doesn’t work anymore, ...

ARE YOU A MAN?

If you are, consider yourself very lucky because you have not experienced how it felt to be dumped by a woman like most women have when they were dumped by their men forever. It is a painful experience. It hurts really bad. I spoke with a woman about her experience after her husband left her, and she said it felt like she has lost a child. I used the word “dumped” because that’s how most women feel when their husbands dumped them for younger and prettier women. They feel like trash dumped into garbage bins from the top. Jesus said, And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made [them] at the beginning `made them male and female,' and said `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh . Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. " Matthew 19:4-6. The Bible says that a man will leave his father and mothe...

GOD WILL LIVE WITH US

Brethren, what do you see when you read the Ten Commandments described in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21? I heard some of you say “old stuff”. Indeed, the Ten Commandments are “old stuff,” but don’t we see the same problems, or even worst problems today compared to when the Prophet Moses was alive? Yes, I see our moral problems today worse than during Jesus’ or Moses’ time. The Ten Commandments is a word picture of the terms that God’s people have to meet before God wants to live with us on the new earth.  Jesus said in John 14:15,21,23,24, "If you love Me, keep My commandments. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him . He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sen...

WHEN WILL THE LAW BE FULFILLED?

Jesus said, “ "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18. Do you know what Jesus meant when He said till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled? This can take place only when the following law has become a reality, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is [the] first and great commandment. And [the] second [is] like it: `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:37-40. That, I believe, was the main reason why He gave us the law, so we will love the LORD our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind, and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. How can we love our God? Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments. H...

THE NEW LAW

I am going to discuss with you the new law that Jesus gave us when He was on earth.  This is really not a new law. It is a shortened version of the Ten Commandments. It is the Torah law for Christians who follow Jesus. If you are a follower of the apostle Paul, however, the new law of Jesus does not apply to you. Why not? Because followers of Paul have no law to keep. They are not under the Torah law of Jesus. As such they believe that they have no sin. Why? Because sin is defined as the transgression of God’s laws. And because they believe that there are no God’s laws to violate, adultery, cheating, coveting, living in sin, gossiping, and so forth is not a sin.  They believe that whatever they do is under the “grace” law of Paul. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, c...

NO GUARANTEE

Have we been saved? Are we absolutely sure that we are saved? How can we know for sure that we are saved? How? By faith alone? Or by faith and work? Or work alone? James 2:19. Personally I feel that work alone is adequate. If we do what He tells us to do, that implies that we have faith in Him. If we do what He tells us to do, that means that we know Him. Work is more important than faith and no work. The merchants who traded Jesus claimed that they knew the way to salvation, or eternal life. They think that they know the way to eternal life, but eternal life is not what they think it is. Eternal life is about sacrifice . Are we willing to sacrifice? If we are not willing to sacrifice, then we know nothing yet about eternal life. The Jesus’ salesmen can only make “promises” that Jesus will give us eternal life . But do they know Jesus? I doubt it! Also, just because we say that we know Jesus does not mean that Jesus knows us. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His ...
