Have we been saved? Are we absolutely sure that we are saved? How can we know for sure that we are saved? How? By faith alone? Or by faith and work? Or work alone? James 2:19. Personally I feel that work alone is adequate. If we do what He tells us to do, that implies that we have faith in Him. If we do what He tells us to do, that means that we know Him.
Work is more important than faith and no work. The merchants who traded Jesus claimed that they knew the way to salvation, or eternal life. They think that they know the way to eternal life, but eternal life is not what they think it is. Eternal life is about sacrifice. Are we willing to sacrifice? If we are not willing to sacrifice, then we know nothing yet about eternal life. The Jesus’ salesmen can only make “promises” that Jesus will give us eternal life. But do they know Jesus? I doubt it! Also, just because we say that we know Jesus does not mean that Jesus knows us. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:4.
Jesus said to these men/women of great faith, "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:23.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:39-41, referring to His second coming, “And they did not know it until the flood came and swept them all away. Likewise at the coming of the Son of Man. Two people will be in the field: one will be taken and the other will be left behind. Two women are grinding in the mill: one will be carried and the other left." Luke 17:34 says, “I tell you, that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken away and the other left behind." Do you know why one will be taken away and the other left behind? Jesus comes to take His children to heaven, not to take strangers who don’t know Him. Are we ready for His second coming? Are we ready, or have we forgotten that Jesus is coming again soon?
Have you ever wondered why Jesus said one would be taken and the other would be left behind? Why are husbands or wives taken and the others left behind? Or, why would one be taken and the other left behind? Here's the answer.
First of all, every promise that God makes with His Prophets, with His disciples, with you, with me, or with anyone else is a conditional promise. Do not forget! There are several conditions attached to God’s promise, which your pastor rarely will tell you. What does it mean? A promise by Jesus is an offer, like a contract. He promised to you and me that He will take us to heaven when He returns as long as we have met the conditions set out in our contract or agreement with Him. For example, after God created Adam and Eve, He told them that they could eat all the fruit in the garden except for one. And the LORD God said to them, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it, you will surely die." Genesis 2:16-17. His offer was that they could eat fruit from any tree in the garden except one. The verbal stipulation was that they should not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It is a conditional promise for eternal life. Most of us just hold on to God's promises, but the terms we don’t care about. We don't care about the terms. We pretend that we are dumb or stupid or senile. Another example. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." What are the conditions of God's offer of eternal life? "Do the will of my Father who is in heaven," Jesus said. Without doing the will of the Father, we cannot expect grace or mercy from God. Faith without works is dead, the Apostle James said! But doing what God wants us to do will assure our salvation. We must meet the conditions set by God for eternal life. Would you like to know more examples of the terms of God's promises? Read the Bible and you will find more conditions and terms of God's terms from the time of Pharaoh, the King of ancient Egypt, to the New Testament. All of God's promises are conditional promises.
Those who are taken by God have met the conditions set by God, and those who are left behind have only fulfilled the conditions set by the pastor, preacher, Bible teacher, and other people pleasers. There are two different conditions, one according to the Bible, and another according to the preacher's understanding of what he reads in the Bible.
I believe that the above is the only reason why one was taken and the other left. God's promises do not guarantee our salvation. But meeting the conditions listed in God's promises is what brings us salvation, and nothing less.
What other reason could there be unless one has met the requirements set by God, and the other has only met the requirements set by the preacher or by ourselves? Our prophets who are now in heaven have followed His Commandments. They have met the work requirements set by God (YAHWEH), but the disciple Judas Iscariot did not! He disobeyed his Master's rules. He did not meet the conditions set by God. He only fulfilled the conditions set by himself.
Most of us are not Bible scholars. We look to our Bible teacher for the meaning or interpretation of certain Bible passages. If we are not sure, we will ask our Bible teacher. But woe to us if we believe and agree on what they will say to us without asking another question or two, or testing more! Why? Because what we're about to hear from them is a corrupted version of the contract with Jesus, made simple for small children to swallow, but not the original version that was presented to all of our prophets and approved by God. Why the watered-down version? Because Preachers have to be true politicians if they are to be successful in their business. They have to make their listeners happy, or else their church will be empty in no time, guaranteed. Likewise, their offering plates will be empty too. They have to be politically correct. They are people pleasers, and not God pleasers.
2 Timothy 4:3 says, "For there will come a time when people will not be able to accept sound teaching. Instead, to fulfill their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” If the Preacher doesn't preach what his members' itching ears want to hear, the members will leave one by one before the service is over. Politically correct preachers are very popular today.
Again, 2 Timothy 4:3 says, “For the time is coming when people will no longer be able to accept sound teaching, but they will gather together teachers according to their own will to satisfy the desire of their ears.” And now the time has come! We are surrounded by Jesus' salesmen who teach EMPTY and FALSE teachings that I had never heard before when I was a child. They promise that once we are saved, we are saved forever. What are the terms and conditions to be saved forever? Did Jesus make these promises? Did Adam and Eve get eternal life forever? Did Lucifer get eternal life forever? No! Why not? Again, I ask you did Jesus make these eternal life promises without conditions? Or did it come out of the mouth of liars who sold Jesus? I believe what Jesus said! Why? Because Jesus is my God, my Savior. Another idea that was widely spread by Jesus' salesmen was the idea that when Jesus was nailed on the cross, we could no longer sin. That was the most ridiculous teaching that I have ever heard in my life. Did Jesus say this? Did He make this promise, or was this promise made by Jesus' salesmen? In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus teaches us to ask for forgiveness for our sins. Why should we waste our breath when we pray for forgiveness if we can't sin anymore? Why? Does it make any sense?
Also, in Matthew 5:23-24 Jesus said, "Therefore if you are presenting your gift on the altar and there are things your brother or sister has against you, leave your offering before the altar. Make peace with them and come. and present your offering." Do you know what this means? That means unless we apologize to our brethren for our sins, Jesus will not accept our offerings or prayers. He will not hear our prayers is the implication of Matthew 5:23-24. So, my question to all of you is this - why waste our time praying for forgiveness, and asking for forgiveness from our brothers or sisters, if we can't sin or offend others anymore?
Don't forget what 2 Timothy 4:3 says about politically correct preachers or Pharisees. We take a big risk if the Pastor of our church doesn't get into the character-building business. And we will take even greater risks if we believe them!
Brethren, if you hear from your Pastor or from your Bible teacher about the promises that Jesus made without any accompanying conditions, ask him more questions until you are fully satisfied! Satan is working overtime to deceive us all by selling Jesus' promises without any conditions. Lord, save us from politically correct preachers! Save us from people pleaser pastors!
