PASTORS, PLEASE.
Today I am going to write something that I hope will make nobody mad at me. This article is for my friends who are pastors and preachers. Pastors and preachers are expected to be the spiritual doctors of people who hear or come in contact with them. As such, they must be familiar with the Biblical terms used in the Bible. For instance, when they say that Isaac was saved because of the faith of Abraham, they must make sure that the faith of Abraham saves Isaac, and not something else.
What does the Bible say that saves Isaac? “And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am." And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God since you have not withheld your son, your only [son], from Me." Genesis 22:10-12.
As the text clearly shows, Isaac was saved not because of the faith of Abraham. Isaac was saved because of the fear of Abraham. Abraham feared God. People need to know that the fear of God is more important than the faith of God for doing something that God wants them to do for Him. Christians frequently ignore what God tells them to do because they have no fear of God. If they have fear of the Lord, they would not say that God's words are hyperbole or spam, and ignore them like they are a pile of crap.
Another word that I frequently hear pastors and preachers say is that we are saved by faith only. In my view, faith saves nobody! Here’s the proof. "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Revelation 20:12. Revelation says that we are judged by our works, and not by our faith. If faith alone is required for our salvation, heaven or the new earth will be full of demons, because they too believe in God.
Look, medical doctors can be sued for giving the wrong medical advice to their patients. Why can pastors and preachers not be sued for giving the wrong spiritual advice to members of the church? Don’t they get money every week to provide their spiritual services?
I think lawyers should do something about this malpractice issue so the government can improve the quality of information that is passed to the public from the pulpits. What do you think?
