BEFORE AND AFTER
Today I want to discuss with my readers about the time period before and after Jesus was born. What happened during that time? This subject is important for us to know. Why? Because it is history. All Christians need to know what happened before and after Jesus was born. In other words, what happened during the Old Testament time, before Jesus was born, and what happened during the New Testament time, after Jesus was born? History for me is important. Why? Because from reading the history of what happened before Jesus was born, and after Jesus was born, I can learn important lessons about how to conduct myself in relation to my God.
For example, during the Old Testament we have Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Enoch, Isaiah, Noah, and other prophets who are now in heaven. But during Jesus’ time, do we know who is in heaven other than Jesus and the thief on the cross? Do you know why? Because all of the prophets in the Old Testaments feared God, whereas Jesus’ Disciples, except James and a few others, and millions of new-born Christians, do not fear God. They only have faith in God, that’s all. But they do not fear God. And because of their lack of fear of God they abolished all of God’s commandments even when they knew what Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." Matthew 24:35. Many years ago I used to live in a college dormitory in Utrecht, Holland. Utrecht is a small town. One night, during the weekend, I and a couple of friends walked around the neighbors to see the houses there. I saw one house that had no light at all, inside and outside the house. The house was dark, inside and outside. I asked my friend why was that house so dark? And he said Jews live in that house. It was their Sabbath. Do you know why Jews don’t even turn the light in their house on a Sabbath? They want to keep the Sabbath holy. They listened to what God had told them to do because they feared the Lord. What do Christians do on the Sabbath? They do anything except keeping the Sabbath holy even though Jesus had said "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." They knew what God said about the Sabbath, but they don't care.
Jesus did what believers were doing during the Old Testament time, keeping the Sabbath holy, but Christians were doing something else. Christians like to do something different than what Jesus had told them to do, just like Adam and Eve, Lucifer, etc.
