FEAR NOT
Jesus said, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28. God tells us that we should not fear those who can kill our body but not our soul. But fear Him who can kill both our body and our soul in hell. What is Jesus saying here? Let me explain.
When we die, our body returns to dust. We came from dust on the ground, and we returned to dust. We know this. But where is our soul? Where does our soul go after we die? Where? Does the soul float somewhere near our graves? Or does it go back to God? I believe that both body and soul stay on earth after we die. They don’t go to heaven unless God invited them to heaven, such as His prophets, and a few others. When Jesus returns, He decides who goes to hell and who goes to heaven. Those who go to hell will suffer painful death. Jesus said, you will hear weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:42. This is unusual because when the body is burned at 1,000 degrees Celsius you will not hear weeping at all. The body will burn into ashes in an instant. You will not hear or notice the weeping and gnashing of the teeth at the time. But when the soul is burned in hell, you will clearly hear the weeping and gnashing of the teeth. The spirit or the soul that is burned in 1,000 degrees hell is resistant to death. The soul doesn’t die instantly. How long will the soul suffer the 1,000-degree heat is determined by God, depending on our works? “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” Revelation 20:12. The bible says that on judgment day we will be judged based on what we do. What we do on earth during our lives, good or bad, will determine how long we will be punished in hell. Our faith has nothing to do with how long or how short we will burn in hell. Our obedience to God, however, will significantly determine how long or how short we will suffer in hell. That’s why Jesus said, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28. We all knew that the millions or billions of people who drowned during the big flood did not obey God’s will, except Noah and a few others with Him. Please understand and make no mistake that the God of Noah is the same God that all Christians worship today - Jesus Christ. Hebrews 13:8 says, Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today, and forever.” In other words, Jesus Christ is the same as YHWH, the God who says that He was sorry that He created man on earth. Genesis 6:6. The world then was not as bad as today. Today, everybody does not care about Jesus Christ other than to make money. The Truth no longer matters. Most Christians don’t care about the words of God anymore. They do what tickles their ears. That’s all. The majority of Christians today follow the “no work” philosophy of the apostle Paul. The road is wide, and the gate is tall.
