SALVATION STUDENT
This morning I am going to write about a topic that I believe I have never written before. I will try to write as clearly as I can so that no one misunderstands me. The topic is entitled Salvation Student.
What is a Salvation Student? Let me explain it this way. A Salvation Student can be likened to a Nursing Student. A nursing student is not a Nurse until she or he graduates from the nursing school. A medical student is not a Doctor until he or she graduates from a medical school. A salvation student is not saved until Jesus says that he or she is saved. Do you follow me so far? If you do, great! Okay, let us move on.
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. These Christian men/women of great faith have always believed that they were saved until they met Jesus on Judgment Day. What did Jesus say to them? Jesus said, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”. What is the lesson that I want my readers to learn from this? The lesson that I want my readers to remember is that we are not saved until Jesus says we are saved. We are not a Registered Nurse or an MD until the Licensing Board says that we are an RN or an MD. And we are not saved until Jesus says we are saved. Have I made myself very clear so far? I hope I have. Now, you said that your church pastor says that you are saved? He’s right, but he was talking about himself, and not about you. He meant that he was saved. His position is saved because he gets an offering and tithe from you each week. Do you understand what I just said? I hope that you do. Now, let me continue with what I want to show you next.
“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” Revelation 20:12.
Brothers and Sisters, as you can see for yourselves, both the living and the dead are judged by the work that they do, and not by their faith! And this occurs on Judgment Day when Jesus returns. We are not saved until we are saved! Some argue that Paul said we are saved by faith. He can say whatever he wants, but the fact remains that he is not the owner of Heaven. We should listen to what Jesus says if we want to live with Him. We should listen and follow Him if our goal is to live in Heaven with Jesus and His angels who have watched over us since we were babies. Yahweh is our Chief Commander, no one else!
Finally, Jesus said "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13. Unless we can endure to the end, we are not saved yet. Judas Iscariot was called, but he could not endure till the end. He did not know what to do till the end, and that was to do the will of God. The thief on the cross was a rare exception, and you know that too, right? Do you get the idea, Bro?
In the meantime, we are Salvation Students until Jesus determines our status on Judgment Day. Keep up our faithful work as Salvation Students while we are waiting for His return to save us! GB.
