FAITH OR WORK?
I have written more than one article about faith and/or work. Why? Because I believe that work is more important than faith. The apostle Paul and millions of his worshipers, however, believe that faith is more important than work. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Jesus Christ is our arbitrator. Let us ask Jesus what He says. Jesus said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21. Readers, what kind of treasures were Jesus referring to in Matthew 6:18-21? Was He talking about the treasures that we have gathered as the result of our good work on earth (objective), or was He talking about our "faith" treasures (subjective)? I believe Jesus was talking about the treasures that we have collected as the result of doing His work that we do on earth. Why? Because when we die we can take none of them to heaven. The only treasure that we can take to heaven is the good work that we have done for Him on this earth. And Jesus will record and give us full credit plus premium interest for the good work that we have done on earth that will glorify His name. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. Rest assured brothers and sisters that when we abolish His laws and commandments that kind of work will not glorify the name of Yahweh. It humiliates Yahweh. It will glorify only the name of the apostle Paul, Satan, and us who abolished His laws and commandments that we do not like and that we don’t want to keep and do. Do we believe that Jesus will let us take and keep this kind of “junk treasures” in heaven? The only "reward" that we will receive for humiliating Him is weeping and gnashing of teeth when Jesus returns. You don’t have to believe me, Bro, because salvation is not for everyone! Again, salvation is not for everyone! Jesus said to these Christian men/women of great faith, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus rejected these men/women of great faith because all that they could show was junk faith, work that Jesus did not ask them to do, and was totally absent of obedience to Yahweh's will. They did not know what the will of Yahweh was because they had flushed them all down the toilet except for the law on tithing and offering. Jesus called them lawlessness practitioners, guilty of deceiving Christians all over the world by withholding Yahweh's truth from them.
