MAY I ASK?
Readers, may I ask you a question? I have always wanted to ask my Christian readers this question because I cannot read your mind. I am not a mind reader. I do not have the gift to read anyone’s mind. The first question I want to ask you is this? Do you believe that Jesus has died to pay for our sins? This is what I have heard since I was a child. And frankly, I don’t understand why He would die to pay for our sins? Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perishes, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand, causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. This verse tells me that Jesus is not interested in paying or dying for anyone's sins. We have to pay for our own sins. I heard some Christians say because He loves us. Well, that makes sense. But do we also love Him, why do we love Him, and what have we done to show that we love Him, to make better sense of the argument? Can we show that we love Him by faith? Can faith be objectively measured? No, it cannot. That means that anything that we do for Him must be capable of objective measurement.
For example, Abraham believed that God would give Sarah a son despite her old age. But faith is not enough. They have to work, and that work is called sex. So, work and faith must go together. If you believe that one day you can become a physician, you must take courses that will prepare you to become a medical doctor. Why? Because you cannot become a physician by taking nursing courses. In other words, the work or training that you take or do must meet what your profession requires you to have, not just any kind of work. Do you understand so far? Good if you do. Okay, let me give you more examples. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
These men/women whom Jesus had rejected wanted to go to heaven. They thought that to be a candidate of heaven they must possess great faith to cast out demons and do many wonders in Jesus’ name. But that was not the work experience that Jesus wanted them to have. Jesus requires them to do first the will of His Father - YAHWEH before they can be accepted as candidates for heaven! Many Christians are confused and think that it is easy, very easy to go to heaven. They can do any kind of work even if it is unrelated to their faith, they thought. Don’t you be deceived by all the nonsense that you hear coming from the pulpits. They want you to believe that it is easy to go to heaven so you can easily give your hard-earned money to them, that’s all.
Finally, do you love Jesus whom you said has died to pay for your sin? Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” John 14:15,21-24. This is the minimum work that all Christians must do if they believe that Jesus has died to pay for their sins. Christians must keep Yahweh's commandments, not Paul's. And this should be easy for my readers to understand. God bless.
