CHRIST AND THE CHURCH

Today I want to talk a little bit about Christ and the church. And to introduce you to this important topic I want to quote for you a text from the Bible. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything.” Husbands love your wives, just as Christ has also loved the church and gave Himself for her,” So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.” Nevertheless, let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife [see] that she respects [her] husband.” Ephesians 5:22-25,28,33. The Apostle who wrote the scripture implied that the reason why husbands don’t love their wives is because the wives refuse to submit and respect their husbands. He illustrates this by giving the metaphor of the relationship between Christ and the church. Who is Christ? And who is the church? Christ is Jesus Christ whom the majority of Christians say have died to pay for their sins.
The church is the people who go to the church - the Christians. “Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything,” the Scripture says. The Bible says that Christians are subject to Jesus Christ in everything, as the wives are subject to their husbands in everything. Why? So their husbands can love them, just as Christ loved the church. Have I made myself clear in explaining to my readers what the Bible says? I hope I have. Now I have this question, are today’s Christians subject to Jesus Christ in everything? Yes, they are, unless they call themselves Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, or some other names, and not Christians. Why are they called Christians? Because they are followers of Jesus Christ. They follow the teachings of Jesus as described in the first four books of the New Testament. The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is found in the first four books of the New Testament. People, who call themselves Muslims, follow the teachings of the Al-Quran, people who call themselves Buddhists follow the teachings of Buddha, people who call themselves Catholics follow the teachings of the Catholic church, and so on. But with the Christians it is different. They follow the teachings of their leaders. They follow the teachings of Martin Luther. They follow the teachings of the Pope, etc. That, I believe, is the reason why we have more than 40,000 Christian denominations throughout the world. They don’t follow Jesus Christ only. They follow anyone who tickles their ears. For example, Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” John 14:15,21-24. But, what did we do with the teachings of Jesus? We ignored and abolished His teachings for at least two reasons. Number one is because Jesus had died on the cross. Number two is Paul’s teachings on grace in Ephesians 2:8-9. What has Jesus death to do with the abolishment of God’s commandments? Don’t Christians know that His commandments were given for our own good? His commandments are for us to keep and observe for our good, and not for Jesus. He benefits nothing when He says we cannot commit adultery. Jesus is not married, and He has no wife or children. Also, many of the United States constitutions were written by people who were already dead, and they are still honored today. So, Jesus’ death cannot be the reason for abolishing the commandments of God. So, what is? I believe Paul’s teaching on grace is the reason why today’s Christians abolished the commandments of God. Under "grace" Christians believe that they can violate all of God’s punishment without being punished. Brothers and Sisters, please don’t do that! The apostle Paul will not defend us on Judgment Day, guaranteed! Christians have neither submitted their will to Christ nor shown any respect to Jesus Christ. Would Jesus live with us in heaven if we won't submit to Him and are disrespectful to Him?
