BLASPHEMY
Last night I had a hard time falling asleep. I stayed awake most of the night. My “mind” keeps telling me that I must write this article. What is the article about? It is about blasphemy. In Matthew 12:31-32 Jesus said, "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy [against] the Spirit will not be forgiven men. "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the [age] to come.”
Here is the first time that I learn about Jesus talking about the unpardonable sin - sin against the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that if we are against or denying the Holy Spirit, our sin will not be forgiven. Even if we speak against the Holy Spirit, our sin will not be forgiven! Why is the Holy Spirit so important? Let us see first what Jesus says He is in relation to God the Father. Jesus says, "For I have not spoken on My own [authority]; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." John 12:49-50. This verse alone tells me that by His own admission Jesus Christ is not equal to Yahweh or God the Father. Jesus tells me that He is a subordinate to God the Father. Now about the Holy Spirit. What does Jesus say about the Holy Spirit? “The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.” John 14:26. Jesus said that God the Father will send to us a Helper to remind us of all the things that He has told us. And we know that a Helper on earth cannot be equal to or the same as the Sender who sent him from heaven. All that Jesus has told us were through His words and commandments. The Holy Spirit is God’s words. They are Yahweh’s words. If we think that God the Father = God the Son = God the Holy Spirit, we must not fully know or understand the nature of God the Father in the Old Testament history.
They are different entities with different roles. Also, if God the Father = God the Son = God the Holy Spirit, why did Jesus say, "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, or denying the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the [age] to come.” Why? Is God the Holy Spirit higher than God the Son? The Holy Spirit are the words of Yahweh/Jesus. When we abolished or deny the words of Jesus, that constitutes blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. And blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is an unpardonable sin.
"Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; "but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" Mark 3:28-30.
