COMMANDMENT #5

 "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” Deuteronomy 5:16. God the Father has commanded us to honor our parents. Why? Not because they are our parents only who have given birth to us, fed us, and taken care of us since we were babies, but more importantly that our days may be long and that we will receive an abundance of blessing from God the Father if we take care of our parents. God knows that many children dishonor, disrespect, and neglect their parents and treat them as their adversary. And so God made this commandment an important part of His commandments that He wants us to keep as long as our parents are still alive. That our days may be long, and that it may be well with us in the land which the LORD our God has given us. These are His promises to us. All of us will eventually grow old. As we grow older our physical abilities change. What we can easily do when we are 25 years of age, we have to struggle when we are 85 or 90 years old. Even walking is not so easy anymore. I saw a cardiologist a few days ago. I have a simple question that I ask her. Her immediate response was that I see my primary care doctor. I am confused. Doesn’t a cardiologist have to become a primary care doctor first before she becomes a cardiologist? Doesn’t she have to know how to treat an ordinary wound when she was doing her rotation in medical school? She sounded very defensive. I get frequent calls from my doctor’s office for referrals to other subspecialties, and I told them to leave me alone. I know how to make an appointment to see my primary care doctor. I want to rest, and not answer phones from hackers.
Readers, taking care of our elderly parents is God's will. Let me assure you that we can never go wrong if we do God’s will. We humans sometimes make the wrong decision.  But don’t worry too much. Why? Because God has already provided us a way to benefit from the mistakes that we make. That is how our God is!

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world . A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all [who are] in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:13-16. Paul, on the other hand, contradicts Jesus and said, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. ” Ephesians 2:8-9. Paul said put your light under a basket. Don't glorify God with our good works. But in James 2:17 we read,  "Thus also faith by itself if it does not have works, is dead. DID JESUS DIE TO PAY FOR OUR SINS?

Jesus did not die to pay for our sins. Why? Because He did not! And that was not the reason why the Jews wanted to crucify Jesus. The Jewish leaders did not accuse Jesus before the Roman authorities for paying our sins. No, they did not. Ask the Jews why they wanted to stone/crucify Jesus. In John 10:32-33 Jesus said to the Jews, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy , because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” You see, if you live in America and claim to be God, and you mess up the road traffic, they put you in a mental hospital. But in the town where Jesus lived they will stone you to death. Blasphemy is a serious offense. And so is changing God’s commandments, such as changing the Ten Commandments. LEGAL OFFER FROM JESUS

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28 Today I am going to discuss a legal offer that Jesus offered to us, Jews and Gentiles when He was on earth thousands of years ago. If the Jews want to accept His offer, they are very welcome. If the Gentiles want to accept His offer, they are also welcome. If Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, or even Satan worshippers want to take up His offer, they are very welcome. Jesus’ offer is open to everyone. CRAZIES

  Readers, I want to share with you some of the crazy stories that I have recently heard from my daughter. Recently the hospital where she works mandated her to take care of mentally insane people. The hospital needs Registered Nurses to take care of crazy people because more and more crazy people are coming to the hospital where she works each day. If you read the Bible you can find stories about demon possessed people during Jesus’ time. The crazy people that my daughter is mandated to take care of are not demon possessed . I am going to begin with the longer commandments, the Ten Commandments, and end with the shorter commandment, the “law of Christ”. THE LAW OF CHRIST

  What is the “law of Christ”? Christians believe that the law of Christ is the fulfilment of the Old Testament law emphasizing “ love ” as the center of Christian living. It is described in Galatians 6:2, “ Bear one another's burdens , and so fulfill the law of Christ”. That is NOT 100% correct ! That is Paul’s idea, a people pleaser ! That is the idea of a politician. What did Jesus say? “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with. ... And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' “Matthew 22:36-40; Mark 12:30-31. FIRST , we should love our God. SECOND , we should love our neighbor as ourselves. That is the true “ law of Christ ” . Be careful when we read the Bible. Why? Because the apostle Paul has said that people will look for teachers who can tickle their ears. CONFUSED?

Today I am going to write a few more words in case some of my readers are still not fully clear about what Jesus said when He said in Matthew 10:28, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Why did Jesus say that we should fear a God that can kill the soul, and not kill the body only? Do you know why? Most Christians don’t know the answer. They think that once we are dead we are done, finished. Once we are punished and burned in hell to ashes, there is nothing more to it, right? No, you are wrong! Why? Because the holy spirit tells me that while killing our body doesn’t take much work, a simple lethal IV infusion or high voltage electric current of an electric chair will kill our body, killing our soul is a different story.
