THE PERIOD OF THE GREATEST DISAPPOINTMENT
Readers, a voice keeps telling me that I should write this article. I tried to ignore that voice, but it won’t go away. So, what is that voice about?
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. This period is called a period of the greatest disappointment when Jesus rejects millions or billions of disappointed Christians who expect to be saved and go to heaven but were not, whose number [is] as the sand of the sea. Jesus called them lawlessness practitioners, even though they claimed that they are men/women of great faith. The Bible describes this situation in Revelation 20, “Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number [is] as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.” Revelation 20:7-9.
Brothers and Sisters, we can brag all we want, "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'” Yes, we can say and do all that, but unless we do the will of God the Father, our faith means nothing. The Apostle James said, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26. Work is the fruit of faith. A believer who says that he is a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Christian, or even a stone worshipper and bears no fruits of his belief is useless. “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.” Revelation 20:12-13. The battle described in Revelation 20 is a short battle, between Christians who refuse to do the will of God the Father and Christians who do the will of God the Father. God looked at the whole thing, and made a prompt, swift, and fair decision, fire came down from heaven and devoured all of the Christians who refused to do the will of God the Father. What fair option does He have? Are we doing the will of God the Father? Are we? Are we sure? Are we double sure?
