LAW ABIDING CITIZENS

We can never have a first-class society, on earth or in heaven, unless we have law-abiding citizens. It doesn't matter whether it is socialism, capitalism, communism, grace-ism, or any "-ism" not listed here. We know that it did not work in heaven, and it could never work on earth, or in the new earth when Jesus returns.

Adam and Eve lost eternal life because they were not law-abiding citizens of the Garden of Eden. They ignored God's instructions to them and ate the fruit that God told them not to eat. They did not obey God's law. They were not a law-abiding citizen. And they received no grace from God. God evicted them from their home.

Lucifer and millions of his angels were thrown out from heaven because they too were not law-abiding citizens. They know that God had created them and had dominion over them, yet they want to exceed God's authority and rule heaven. They were not law-abiding citizens of heaven. They rebelled against the authority of God. And they refused to be ruled by God. They received no grace from God.

Thousands of Pharaoh's soldiers lost their lives because they refused to listen to God's warnings that the Prophet Moses gave them. They refused to set Israel's slaves free so they can worship their God. They refused to follow God's order. Consequently, they lost their lives - no grace from God.

Millions and billions of people drowned and lost their lives during the big flood because they refused to follow God's laws and commandments that the Prophet Noah had given them. They all perished. They received no grace from God.

Noah and his family were saved and survived the big flood. Why? Because they were obedient to God. They do what God tells them to do. The Bible says they found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8

What have we learned from them? People who are not law-abiding will receive no grace from God. People who do not follow God's law are not saved!

We must be Law-abiding citizens if we hope to live in heaven with Jesus. If we have decided to reject His commandments and laws and make our own laws, we should plan to live in a different place with some other gods, but not with Jesus.

We must be law-abiding citizens if we want to live with Jesus on the new earth. It is a strict entry requirement to the Kingdom of Heaven. If we refuse to meet the requirement of God and subject ourselves to His laws, He won’t accept us.

Why are law-abiding citizens of such great importance for screening the citizens of heaven? If that is not the standard, there will be RIOT in heaven, again, similar to what happened during Lucifer's time when he was evicted from heaven. There will be another rebellion on the new earth. I don't believe that God will allow that to happen; and I don't believe Jesus will die for us again for a second time, regardless of his love for us.

Jesus loves us, but He is not blind to Satan's tricks to fool Him. And I believe that Covid-19 is His way of telling us that His patience with Satan and with us is wearing thin, just like in the time of Noah. Why not?

Back in 1970 when I went to Portland, Oregon, I stayed in a motel. The receptionist asked me for a cash deposit. That was all that she asked. In 1980 I went back to the same motel. The female receptionist asked me for a cash deposit, two picture IDs, and a credit card. I know it was not because of the clothes that I wore, or how I was groomed. I quickly realized that the motel no longer viewed visitors as credible customers. They are viewed as suspects! I grinned as I surrendered the documents to her. Are we losing our credibility, I asked? Why? It must be because many of us are not law-abiding citizens, I concluded. We have become liars 10 years later.

That brought me to think. Would Jesus take us to heaven if we are not law-abiding citizens? No, He would not! In Matthew 7:21 Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven"; "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'" (Matthew 7:23). Do you know what "lawlessness" means? Merriam-Webster described it as "disregard for the law or rules".
They do not do the will (law) of God. They do not obey God's law. They are not law-abiding citizens. Jesus clearly emphasized that we should do the will of His Father in heaven, and not do our will, or someone else's will if we want to go to heaven. If we have not observed God's commandments here on earth, how can we observe His Laws in heaven when we don't know what they are?

The apostle John later explained: "Now by this, we know that we know Him if we keep His commandments. He who says, 'I know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:3-4)

We should be transparent before the law. We should not provoke anyone who enforces the laws, such as God, to become angry at us. For example, if police officers come to our home with a warrant to search our home because of charges that we hide narcotics or guns in our house, let them search. Because if we resist, we and our house could get burned during the gunfight. And when Jesus comes, we will get burned again. Why? Because He doesn't want non-law-abiding people to live with Him. That means that we will get burned twice! If we have nothing illegal to hide, why not be transparent and allow the police to search our house? Why resist? If we resist and fight back, bullets will kill us. When Jesus comes, fire from above will kill us again. That means that we will get killed twice. Is that smart? Don't be stupid. Why stupid? Because we may think that we die because of God's sake; but when Jesus returns we will hear God's voice that says to us, "I knew you not"! Jesus says in Matthew 5:41, "If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles". Do we understand what the meaning of this sentence is? We are not to resist! But we should be smart and not allow the devil to trick us. We should always ask God to help us. We can do a lot more of the Lord's work when we are alive than when we are dead, agree? Remember the Waco massacre?

In the Lord's Prayer, we say, "Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." Thy will be done. Whose will be done on earth, God's will or our will?

We should be smart, and not stubborn. We are constantly busy changing His laws to suit our needs. We keep changing His laws with new ones that we invent. We replaced His laws with our own laws and tradition. And then we observe the laws that we created as if they are God's laws. When we do that, are we law-abiding citizens? No, we are not! Who are we deceiving? God gave us His Laws for a purpose. Don’t we know that?

Try and bargain with the Judge in court and say that we disagree with his laws. Tell the Judge that we cannot comply with the laws because the laws give us a headache. Who knows, he might give us the worst headache in our life.

Why are we so STUPID trying to bargain with God regarding His laws and commandments?  Do we think that He doesn’t know that we are using "grace" to fool Him? Should we be surprised when Jesus says to us, "I knew you not?" No, we should not be surprised because we don't know Him either, and we don't trust Him. We don’t love Him! That is the reason why we won't keep His laws and commandments.

Jesus said, if we love him we will keep His commandments (John 14:15). What did we do with His commandments? We ignored them and threw them in the garbage.

Finally, I want my readers to remember the history that I have described above in detail, and in my other postings, that grace from God will be given to us only if we follow the law. This is the rule of grace. If we don't follow the law, grace will not be given to us. How about the thief on the cross, you asked? He is an exception. He came last but ended first. He surrendered to God before he died on the cross, and God accepted him.

Having said that, we humans will occasionally fail because of our bad habits. I am very well aware of that possibility. But be not discouraged. As long as we are still in partnership with God, He will extend His loving arm to us and pull us back up on our feet. Thank you, Jesus! We love you.
