EVIL SPIRITS


Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, `You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'" Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. (Matthew 4:8-11). 

We live in a world surrounded by evil spirits. We don't know whose spirits they are. They may be standing in front of us. They may be following behind us when we are walking to the grocery store, they may be sitting across our table in a restaurant, or they may be sitting next to us while we are sitting in church listening to the Pastor’s sermon. But they are there, and we cannot always recognize them. They may take the form of a human being, or a stranger whom we do not recognize, or know. They may instantly appear, or they may suddenly disappear. But they are there, and we cannot always see them. Where did they come from? According to the Scripture, they were angels (spiritual beings) whom God had evicted from heaven to live with us on earth. What do these evil angels want to do to human beings? They want to constantly bother us and deceive us so that we cannot make it to heaven. Satan wants to deceive us so that none of us can enter the Kingdom of God. And the way they do this is by offering us wealth, lucky lotto numbers, success, and everything that this world has to offer as long as we are willing to worship him. How do we worship the devil? By doing the will of the deceiver. Satan told Jesus, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me." But Jesus in all His wisdom responded and answered, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, `You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'" Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. In Luke 4:3-13 we read, ``And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, `Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for [this] has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. "Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours. "And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, `You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. "For it is written: `He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,'" and, `In [their] hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"And Jesus answered and said to him, 'It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.” We see here in every case Jesus answered Satan without a moment of hesitation with the words “It is written”. Do we know how many “It is written” that we can throw at Satan’s face when he offers us lucky lotto numbers and promises of good fortunes? Do we know how many “It is written” can we say to Satan when he offers us the world? I don’t think we remember any “It is written,” phrases that the Bible has taught us. Why? Because we are too greedy of the world. Because we have flushed all the commandments that He had taught us in the septic tank. We now live by "grace" and not law, and we can forget all His commandments or laws that He had taught us to fight Satan. But when we do that do we know under whose grace are we?

“It is written” is a very powerful set of tools that Jesus used to fight the devil! What weapon do we have to fight the Devil? NOTHING left, we have only“GRACE”, and more “GRACE”. Many of us go to see fortune tellers online or at their business place asking for a new husband or a new wife. Many of us go to GUNUNG KAWI in Indonesia asking for lucky lotto numbers or fortunes from the numerous evil spirits in Gunung Kawi. And when we get them, we worship the spirits, the same spirits that Jesus saw when He was taken to the top of the mountain. "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, `You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'” Any time we are desperate for money, we turn to Satan for help. Anytime we look for good fortune, we go to GUNUNG KAWI and pray to SATAN. And Satan frequently grants us what we want from him when we go to the mountain GUNUNG KAWI.

You may wonder why I am writing this warning? I do this because I want my readers to be aware of what kind of danger they would be in should they go and see psychics or fortune-tellers. These agents claim that they have the psychic power to read what will be ahead of us - our future. And many of us would like to know what lies ahead of us, especially when our present situation is not too bright or bad. From experience, I know that the “psychic” power that these agents have is their unique ability to communicate with Jinn or evil spirits to tell us about our future and luck. And their predictions about our future can sometimes be amazingly accurate over the years. 

God doesn’t want us to see and ask these agents about our future, because they are not His agents. In Leviticus 20:27 the Lord says, “A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.” Why doesn’t God allow us to consult with these mediums? When we see “psychics,” we’ve agreed to their “terms” and "conditions". When we go to them we give Satan the approval to play a direct role in our lives for whatever length of time it may take for the predictions to come true or to occur. And you will find that the predictions can be amazingly accurate and true because we’ve allowed the Jinn, Satan, or evil spirits to do what they want to do in our lives. We have allowed the Jinn to run our lives. And when we do that, allowing Satan to play a role in our lives, God and the Holy Spirit have no place in us for as long as we continue to see a medium, or it can be as long as we live. But rest assured, Satan will not let us go free again as long as we ask him for his help! When we surrender our will to Satan, he will not let us go free! He will keep us under his arm forever. That’s what happened to my deceased brother. He was very young when he died, in his early twenties. He made a fatal mistake that cost him his life. The Bible says, “If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” (Matthew 5:23-24). He didn't know about this verse. He never reconciled with anyone whom he had offended. But even if he knew, I don’t think he would care. I think the Holy Spirit had left him. He lost his protection for good.

A week or two before he died, he told me that almost every night he heard someone knocking at his front door. When he opened the front door, he saw no one there. My brother believed in Jinn and evil spirits. He thought that it was the neighbors' children who bothered him by knocking at his door or calling his name at night, but he was wrong. One morning when I visited him, he was not in his room. His landlord who lives in the front part of the house told me that a car took him to the hospital in the morning. 

What was the fatal mistake that he made? He was too proud to go and reconcile with the rich man whom he had offended and insulted really badly that causing his public reputation to go down the sewers. The rich man was his future father-in-law. My brother had eloped with this man's daughter without his approval. He angrily told my brother and said that he gave his words that my brother could never take his daughter with him and leave Jakarta for America. He delivered on his guarantee that morning. The doctors in Jakarta who examined my brother did not know what had caused my brother's death. My brother, his wife, and his newborn son never left Jakarta on the scheduled Pan Am flight that week to Los Angeles.

The world that we live in is surrounded by evil spirits. Do we want to ask evil spirits to tell our future? Do we want to surrender our life to Satan? NO!

CONFUSED?

Today I am going to write a few more words in case some of my readers are still not fully clear about what Jesus said when He said in Matthew 10:28, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Why did Jesus say that we should fear a God that can kill the soul, and not kill the body only? Do you know why? Most Christians don’t know the answer. They think that once we are dead we are done, finished. Once we are punished and burned in hell to ashes, there is nothing more to it, right? No, you are wrong! LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. SABBATH

"And pray that your flight may not be in the winter or on the Sabbath . For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.” Matthew 24:20-22. Jesus said that we should pray that our flight will not occur on a Sabbath when the Great Tribulation time arrives. Why ? Because the Sabbath must still be observed as a holy day thousands of years later after Jesus was crucified. ALL ABOUT THE HEART

THE TRIAD OF SALVATION

Today I want to discuss the Triad of Salvation - work, grace, and salvation . Work is our part, grace is God’s part, and salvation is our part together - God working tog ether with us in a partnership to help us do His will.
