UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE

The Bible is a law book. Reading and understanding a legal document, such as the Bible, is not easy. Some Biblical verses are straightforward and easy to interpret and understand, some are like reading a legal business contract. For instance, reading the Apostle Paul’s writings can cause a lot of confusion. Reading what Jesus said can also cause confusion, in some cases. For instance look at this verse, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:27-28). Compare it now with a different verse that Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” How can we explain this apparent contradiction? How do we reconcile John 10:27-28 with Matthew 24:13? One verse says "once we are saved we are forever saved", regardless, and the other verse says we don't know whether we are saved or not until the end of our life, or until Jesus returns. Is Jesus contradicting Himself? NO, He is not. God is not a human being. God is faithful to His words. He keeps His words! God doesn’t change.

So, how do we explain it? First, we must decide which of the two verses makes sense, John 10:27-28 or Matthew 24:13? Which is more logical and makes better sense, John 10:27-28, or Matthew 24:13? After carefully reading them I decide that “he who endures to the end shall be saved" is the correct interpretation of who would be saved. Why? John 10:27-28 assumed that human beings do not change. But humans, as we all know, do change, and that was the reason why Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” In other words, if we do not change but stay faithful till the end then will we be saved. That is what Jesus said in Matthew 24:13. I found this to be the most logical conclusion.

Also, according to John 10:27-28, Jesus said,  "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice and they follow Him. Who are His sheep? Those that hear His voice and follow Him are His sheep. Do we hear His voice, and do we follow Him? NO! We threw His commandments in the trash can! What then is the basis of our claim that "once saved we are always saved" when we don't hear Him, we don't follow Him, and we do not do what He wants us to do? None whatsoever!

How could we do this? When we live in the U.S.A. don't we have to OBEY to the laws of this country? Can we say that we live in the USA under the American "grace" laws? What are the US "grace" laws? It is absurd to believe and say that we can live in heaven without subjecting ourselves to God's laws. Could Lucifer live in heaven without subjecting himself to God's law and authority? No, he could not! That's why he was evicted from heaven. What are God's laws?

Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15). Today’s Christians refuse to keep His laws and Commandments! They invent their own laws - “grace”. Do we see any "grace" when God drowned millions or billions of human beings during the big flood? Do we see any grace when God took eternal life away from Adam and Eve? Do we see any grace when God evicted millions or billions of angels from heaven? Do you know why? God has no grace for us if we dishonor Him. God sees no grace in us if we persistently violated His commandments. God sees no grace in us if we won't repent!

In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

What is the will of God? His will is that we keep His laws and commandments. What is the will of our government? Our government's will is that we obey the laws in America. We cannot make our own laws and say that these are the laws that we will obey. Can we say to God that His laws are no longer valid because we are now following the laws of Paul? Who is Paul? Is he the owner of the Kingdom of God? Why are we so confused? It looks like we can no longer see straight. It appears that we can no longer think straight.

Moreover, are we aware that God's laws are our shield? They protect us from Satan. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." But He answered and said, "It is written, `Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" You see, even Jesus used God’s words as His defense or armor against Satan, "It is written." How many "It is written" do we know that we can throw at Satan's face? None, the only word that we know is "grace".

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Ephesians 6:10-18. Can we use God's words as our shield against Satan like what Jesus did? No, we cannot. Why? We have flushed them in the toilet and they are now floating in the septic tank.

Today's Christians do not believe in the Commandments of God. Today’s Christians do not follow and keep the laws and Commandments of Jesus and God the Father. They follow the teachings of the Apostle Paul, even though they don’t fully understand Paul’s whole message. Don’t you think they are confused? I think they are very confused!

Paul has never promised Christians that once they are saved they will always be saved. Today’s Christians made the claim that once they are saved they are always saved based on John 10:27-28, but they refuse to hear His voice and they refuse to follow Him. Instead, they follow Paul's teachings even though they can’t and don’t fully understand Paul's whole message. Is that smart, or not smart?

Finally, I believe that neither Adam and Eve nor Lucifer and millions of his angels have found grace in the eyes of the Lord like Noah did. They have no fear of the Lord like most of us Christians today.

Proverbs 9:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding". They had no wisdom to understand what they were doing! They had no knowledge of the Holy One!

They are confused, and Satan is happy!
