PARTNERSHIP
Salvation is a partnership agreement between two parties - God and us. Why do we need a partnership with God? Because we can not save ourselves. We need Him to save us. What God agrees to do for us is listed in detail in the Bible. What we agree to do for Him is up to us, according to today's modern Christians. We can do anything that we want because we have no written agreement with Him. We don’t even have to keep His Holy Ten Commandments if we don’t want to. Why? Because we have never agreed to do them when we were baptized with pool water or holy water. We agreed to do nothing because we are under grace, and not under the Law. Under grace, we are not subject to God’s law. We can violate any of God’s laws such as do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not lie, or violate any other of God’s Laws and God will not punish us because we are under grace. Whose grace? We don’t know. That is all that we know what Paul says in Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:8-10. Who was telling us the truth, Paul aka Saul, or John? Under grace, stealing is not a sin, but under law, stealing is a sin. Under grace, sin is coated with a thick layer of sweet chocolate. Under the law, sin is coated with nothing.
Let us ask Jesus what to do with sin. He taught us to say in the Lord's Prayer, “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Matthew 6:12. This means that in Jesus' eyes a thief is a thief and not a prophet. As Christians, we can still sin and do what the law does not allow us to do. Under grace, we have no guilty feelings for violating God’s laws. Brothers and sisters, don’t we know that guilty feelings make us want to repent? If we have no guilty feelings for cheating on our wives and our husbands, what stops us from repeating the same behavior the next weekend? If we know that adultery is a sin, and not “nothing,” does that not make us feel guilty and motivate us to change or want to repent? What is the remedy according to Jesus? We follow the Law and ask God to forgive us every time when we are aware that we have sinned or transgressed the Laws of God. If our sin is against our spouses, ask them to forgive us too. That is God's remedy for sin, and not to coat them with "grace."
That was the reason why Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commandments"? By keeping His commandments we would know what sin we have committed and ask God and others to forgive us of our sins as Jesus had taught us in the Bible. (Matthew 5:23-24).
Oh, that is different I heard some newborn modern Christians say. The context is different. Jesus was talking to His disciples in John 14:15, and not to me. I am just a preacher, and not a disciple of Jesus I heard some say. No, we don’t follow Jesus, I heard some of you say again. We now follow Paul. Why? Because Jesus has died on the cross. We are now under grace, and not under the Law you argued. Paul said so in Romans 6:14. Who is Paul? Does he hold the key to the Kingdom of God? NO, he doesn't!
Here’s is also what Paul says, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4. Paul was right. God gives us the freedom of speech, and we can say anything we want. And people will follow whoever opens their mouths as long as what they hear will tickle their itching ears.
No, I heard you say again. We don't follow the Law. Really? No kidding? If you guys don’t follow the law, tell us why did God throw Satan and millions of his angels out of heaven? Why did God evict Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden? Was it because they followed His commandments and laws, or was it because they refused to follow what God had told them to do? Please answer truthfully. Thank you.
"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' (Matthew 7:21-23).
Is heaven a place for people who want to do their own will? Or is heaven a place for people who want to do God's will? Do we want to live under one roof with LAWLESS PRACTITIONERS? Was the rebellion in heaven not started by one lawless practitioner that leads to the crucifixion of our beloved Jesus?
According to a new theory, The Triad of Salvation, salvation stands on three legs - work, grace, and salvation. Work is our part, grace is God’s part, and salvation is our part together - God working together with us in a partnership to help us do His will. We must be faithful partners in our partnership with God if we want to be saved. Why? Because no one can be saved walking alone. Jesus said that only those who endure till the end will be saved. The only way that we can endure till the end is when we walk with Him, as the Prophet Enoch did, as our everyday partner. For further study please read the Triad of Salvation
