DID JESUS FULFILL THE LAW?
Did Jesus fulfill the Law? Did Jesus fulfill the Torah law? What is the Torah law? The Torah law is contained in the first five books of the Bible Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Yes, Jesus fulfilled the Torah law, known also as the Moses law when He was on earth.
Does the Torah law also apply to Christians under the New Covenant?
Well, it all depends on where Christians are going. If we want to live forever with Jesus in heaven then we are also subject to the Torah law. If we want to live somewhere else, we can do whatever we want to do.
The Torah law, as I see it, is permanent. No revision is allowed unless Jesus says so. No revision is allowed unless Jesus said so.
Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17-18.
Jesus gives no one permission to change or revise His laws. That means that if we change His laws we are doing it at our own risk! Do we understand that risk? If we do not follow His law we are doing it at our own risk!
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
Do we understand what Jesus is saying here? He said that even though we have the faith to prophecize in His name, cast out demons in His name, and do wonders in His name, but if we do not do the will of the Father, He will reject us from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. If we do not follow His laws, Jesus will stop us from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. If we practice lawlessness against the laws of God, His holy laws, we will not see heaven.
That was the reason why Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15.
In John 14:21 Jesus said, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
And in John 14:24 Jesus said, “"He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.”
Brothers and Sisters, today is Friday, the preparation day for the Sabbath.
Before I leave you, I will quote this text one more time -
"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23
I hope my writings in this forum will bring all of us closer to God each day. May God bless you all.
