HOW DID THEY DO IT?
Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen [that] you [are] righteous before Me in this generation. Genesis 7:1
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that [there is] none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?"
According to God, Noah is a righteous man, and Job is a blameless, upright man, who fears God and shuns evil.
How did they become righteous, blameless, and upright? Were they born that way? Or were they raised that way? Who raised them that way? How did they do it?
We know that Jesus was not born yet at the time of Noah and Job. The Bible was not put together yet. Paul and the other disciples were not born yet. How did Noah and Job do it?
So, who were their mentors? Do we know who they were?
I believe their mentor was God. Yes, it was God. God knew every one of us since we were born. He knew our potential. He knew our hearts. And God must have given them parents who fear God. And that is all where it starts - God-fearing parents!
God-fearing parents can raise God-fearing children. The “fear of God” concept is deeply implanted in the children’s conscience, so deep that they don’t dare to take God’s name in vain.
Proverbs 1:1-3 says, “Blessed [is] the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” Whatever he does shall prosper because his delight [is] in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. In short, He is blessed! God loves us when we love Him. Jesus said if we love Him keep His commandments. And when we do we can claim His promise, and that is that we will prosper in whatever we do.
