THE PARABLES OF JESUS

One of the ways that Jesus like to teach was through parables. It is easier to understand, so they say. I disagree unless the reader can understand what he/she reads or hears.  Not every parable that Jesus used is that simple to understand. Some parables can be interpreted in more than one way. For example, read this parable in Matthew 15:10-20. “When He had called the multitude to [Himself], He said to them, "Hear and understand: "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man."

Here Jesus was talking about words that come out of our mouths that can defile us and not foods that come in or out of our mouths!

Then His disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?" But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch." Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Explain this parable to us." So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? "Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. "These are [the things] which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."

Jesus was talking about words that come out of our mouths that can defile us, and not eating with unwashed hands.

Jesus wants to emphasize that what defiles us is not eating with unwashed hands, but what comes out of our hearts/mouths (WORDS) is what defiles us.

Preachers and ministers teach everyone that Jesus was talking about foods that go into our mouths. No! Jesus said eating with unwashed hands does not defile us! You see, even preachers and ministers can get confused when they hear Jesus. Nowhere does it say that we can eat unclean foods that are described in Leviticus 11.

Good logic is a prerequisite to understanding the Bible. Why? Because the Bible is a law book. Unless God has given us good logic to understand the Bible, what started as one Christian denomination now becomes over 45,000 Christian denominations worldwide. The devil loves to confuse Christian people who have poor logic.

Again, Jesus was not talking about eating unclean food. He was talking about eating with unclean hands or unwashed hands. Jesus was talking about the evil thoughts that come out from our hearts and mouths that defile us, and not eating with unwashed hands.

Jesus was not talking about eating unclean foods that God told the Jews and us not to eat a long time ago in Leviticus 11.

Or, do you think He contradicts Himself, first He says “no”, and now He says “yes”. No, that is not the nature of God! God doesn't change. Please read Leviticus 11. Also, read Genesis 7:2. Preachers and ministers, please do not lie to please people!

I don’t know for sure all the reasons why God forbids us from eating those foods in Leviticus 11 other than they are "unclean", or "najis", but I followed Him because I believe in the Lord’s prayer - Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

I believe that God has stored nothing but the best for us if we follow Him persistently.
