THE TIME IS NOW
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
In John 14:15 Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
Do you know why Jesus rejected these men of faith as described in Matthew 7:21-23? Because they did not follow the law! They did not love Jesus and did not keep His commandments. Jesus expects them to already know His Law. Jesus expects us to be already practicing His Law on earth. But these men of faith were practicing lawlessness. They did not follow His law.
Do these men of faith think that they are under “grace” and that they can begin to learn to follow the law when they are in Heaven? Nonsense!
When Jesus returns for the second time, it’s time for Judgment. It is not the time for learning. The time for learning was when He came to earth for the first time, thousands of years ago. Now is the time for Judgment, some people say.
Well, I am not very sure that the time for Judgment is NOW.
The Apostle Peter wrote in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Here is the good news for those who came late. REPENT!
