GOD'S FAITH
Brothers, reading the Bible is not like reading a comic book. Why? Because the Bible is a law text. It is a law book. It is not easy to read and understand the Bible at the same time in one reading unless we are experienced lawyers. For example, read this. Jesus said, "Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them]. Mark 11:20-24. Do we understand what Jesus said here? Most likely not because we don’t have the faith that Jesus has. And we think differently than Jesus. Let me illustrate to you what Jesus meant. Jesus wants us to see God as our Father. That’s why He wants us to address His Father as our Father also. Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them].” Jesus wants us to believe that we receive what we ask from Him, and then we will receive them. Do you understand what He wants us to do with our faith? When I was a child I asked my mother for money, pocket money, to buy what I wanted to buy. I know that I will get it from her before she gives it to me. That is the kind of faith that Jesus wants us to have in Him. When we pray to God and ask for something, do we believe that He gives them to us before He gives them to us? If we do, this is the kind of faith that can move mountains. This kind of faith is a gift from God. Let us earnestly pray to our Father in heaven that He gives us this kind of faith.
Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7.
If we ask Jesus with the confidence that we get them, He will give them to us. That is His promise. When Jesus talks, healing begins to take place. That is the kind of faith that we can have if we are obedient to Him.
"In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom comes. Your will be done on earth as [it is] in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13.
