WE CAN NEVER RETURN

Readers, I want to write about something that I believe not many of you have thought about discussing. It’s about perfection. Is it possible to achieve perfection?
Jesus said, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.
Millions or billions of Christians worldwide do not believe that perfection is achievable. No one can be perfect, so they say. Do you want to know why? Because the Church has not been doing its job! The world is in dire need of Bible Practitioners, but the Church can only supply the world with Bible Readers.  And do you want to know why? Because the Church has abolished all of God’s laws and commandments. The universities in America have done the same, teaching its students to ignore God’s laws and commandments. And their corrupt teachings have spread to all over the world, and not only to Indonesia, my birthplace. What a shame, Bro! What a shame. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. Have we done that? No, we have not! Have you watch the news lately? I want to take you back many thousands of years ago when God created Adam and Eve. They were perfect when God created them, were they not? But later they became imperfect when they disobeyed God’s orders. Is it possible for us to become perfect again? Yes, definitely! If it is not possible, why did Jesus say,  "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. Was Jesus asking us to do that which we can’t do? No, I don't believe so. Why? Because He will help us do what He wants us to do if we cannot do it by ourselves. But try we must! He can turn us around from imperfection to perfection in no time. I don’t know how long it took for Adam and Eve to fall into temptation after they had a conversation with the serpent. Maybe a few minutes or seconds, that short. They became imperfect after a short period. Why did they become imperfect? Because they won’t listen to what God has told them. And I am sure they realized their mistake, and they tried to correct them. But correcting their mistakes, as we know, cannot bring us to perfect beings again so quickly, particularly after we have tasted the taste of sin. How many millenniums have gone by since Adam and Eve disobeyed God? Have we heard or seen many perfect people like Job? I have not.
King David wrote, “Blessed [is] the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight [is] in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2. The prophet Joshua wrote, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8. Keeping His commandments is the only way that we humans can become perfect. Why? Because if we do what He tells us to do, how can we become imperfect? If we do what He tells us to do, how can we go wrong? Adam and Eve were perfect when God created them, were they not? But they became imperfect when they refused to do what God had told them not to do, and they ate the forbidden fruit anyway. They refused to do what God had told them to do. They listened to the serpent. As a result God took eternal life away from them. That’s when they became imperfect.
Readers, I want to ask you this question. Is your delight in the law of the Lord? Do we meditate in His law day and night so that we can observe to do according to all that is written in it? If we have not, we can never return to perfection after the fall of Adam and Eve. God bless.
