SERVING JESUS

A lawyer asked [Him a question], testing Him, and saying, "Teacher, which [is] the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is [the] first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:35-38 
Readers, do you know what this text is telling us? Jesus is telling us that we have to give everything to Him. He is our priority in our life, and no one else. We can give no commitment to other people other than Jesus. Do you understand, my dear readers? If you do, you have made me very happy. Why? Because you are smart. In fact, I am proud of my smart readers, very proud. Okay, let us move on.
Jesus also said, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24. Do my readers understand what Jesus is saying here? Jesus said that we cannot commit ourselves to other people such as Paul, John, James, etcetera. We must commit ourselves to Jesus only, and not to Paul to make lots of money. We pledge service to Jesus only. We serve one master only, and not two masters, Jesus and Paul. Why? Because Jesus and Paul have opposite goals. Jesus takes us through the narrow road that leads to salvation, but Paul takes us through the broad road where there is plenty of money that will take us to hell! Jesus teaches us to be obedient to God, but Paul teaches us to be disobedient to God. God teaches us to follow the law, but Paul teaches us to disregard the law. In the meantime what do Christians do to Jesus? They followed Paul and stabbed Jesus in the back, the Jesus who they say had died to pay for their sins. They disregarded Jesus' laws and commandments, and threw them all in the thrash. They have shown great disrespect toward Jesus, the Jesus that they say had died to pay for their sins. They stabbed Jesus in the back! In Indonesian we call this “kurangajar”.

PASTOR-ATTORNEY

Now as Paul thus made his defense before King Agrippa, Festus, a Roman procurator said with a loud voice, "Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!" Acts 26:24. I believe that all Christian Pastors should be trained as lawyers or Attorneys-at-Law. Why? Because the Bible is a law book. It has cases, laws, regulations, commandments, rules, etc. You can learn about civil law and cases in law libraries called reporters or law reports. Reading the Bible is not like reading a novel. CONFUSED?

Today I am going to write a few more words in case some of my readers are still not fully clear about what Jesus said when He said in Matthew 10:28, "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Why did Jesus say that we should fear a God that can kill the soul, and not kill the body only? Do you know why? Most Christians don’t know the answer. They think that once we are dead we are done, finished. Once we are punished and burned in hell to ashes, there is nothing more to it, right? No, you are wrong! Why? Because the holy spirit tells me that while killing our body doesn’t take much work, a simple lethal IV infusion or high voltage electric current of an electric chair will kill our body, killing our soul is a different story. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world . A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. SABBATH

"And pray that your flight may not be in the winter or on the Sabbath . For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.” Matthew 24:20-22. Jesus said that we should pray that our flight will not occur on a Sabbath when the Great Tribulation time arrives. Why ? Because the Sabbath must still be observed as a holy day thousands of years later after Jesus was crucified. This should tell us that whoever teaches that the ten commandments is abolished after Jesus was crucified will heavily pay the price for teaching lies and deceiving people. ALL ABOUT THE HEART

Readers, do you know that when Jesus or Yahweh returns He will not only judge us by our deeds, but He will judge us first by the intention behind our deeds? Do we know that? Do you know that? If our intention is bad, God will send us straight to hell, no detour!  “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. THE TRIAD OF SALVATION

Today I want to discuss the Triad of Salvation - work, grace, and salvation . Work is our part, grace is God’s part, and salvation is our part together - God working tog ether with us in a partnership to help us do His will. We must be in partnership with God if we want to be saved. Why? Because no one can be saved walking alone. Jesus said that only those who endure till the end will be saved. The only way that we can endure till the end is when we walk in a partnership with Him, as the Prophet Enoch did. He walked hand-in-hand with God until the finish line.
