RELEVANT vs. IRRELEVANT
Good morning everyone. I hope you all have a good night's sleep, or a good day's rest, depending on which part of the world you are living. I am, however, concerned about the worsening of the situation in the Middle East. And the reason why I am concerned is because Israel is killing Muslim leaders, and clerics, who play important roles in the Hezbollah opposition movement in Lebanon, and in other parts of the Middle East. Muslim clerics are often directly involved with leading the Hezbollah fighters. But Christianity is different. Christian pastors and preachers don’t get involved in world politics. Some don’t even know what the gospel of the kingdom is. Is that bad or good? I think that is bad, very bad. Why? Because Jesus said, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14. Do we know what the gospel of the kingdom is? The gospel of the kingdom is the testimony of Jesus described in the first four books of the New Testament. And so, Jesus’ death on the cross can not invalidate the first four books of His testimony in the New Testament. Why? Because His second coming is based on that prophecy described in Matthew 24:14. And so, what does the Gospel of the Kingdom say? Jesus says, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perishes, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand, causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. And we say that we don't like it? That is the gospel of the kingdom of God for those who refuse to repent. Jesus, however, will give us plenty of time to repent. But if He sees that we cannot repent, or are too stubborn to repent, He will hand us over to Satan and let him do whatever Satan wants to do with our soul. That is the truth, Bro. But, that is not too terribly relevant. What is relevant for us to know is this. Jesus said, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” John 15:16. In other words, we have to bear fruits if we want Jesus to answer our prayer.
