ENDURANCE
Tonight I want to talk about a subject that I have not talked much about before. It’s in the Bible. Jesus said, "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:11-13. The first question that I had in mind was endure in doing what? Did Jesus endure till the end? Yes, He did. He was doing the will of His Father from birth all the way to the cross. If we can endure doing the will of our Father in heaven we will be saved. How do I know that? Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Do not listen to anyone who tells you anything contrary to what Jesus said, because Jesus is not going to say anything that contradicts Himself. Satan will do that, but Jesus’ true disciples will never make contradictory statements that contradict Jesus.
Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15. Also, "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matthew 24:24. That means that even a disciple of Jesus can deceive us, e.g. Judas Iscariot. Be not gullible. Don’t believe everything that you hear from the pulpit. So, what is the will of the Father in heaven? Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” John 14:15,21-24.
I heard someone in the back say that John 14:15, 21-24 was the will of Jesus. No, you are wrong Bro. Jesus said, "For I have not spoken on My own [authority]; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." John 12:49-50.
Jesus says He speaks what His Father had told Him to say. Jesus’ words came from Yahweh, the God who forced millions of sinners to inhale mud water during Noah’s time. And He is prepared to send men/women of great faith to hell if they are not doing the will of His Father. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
