GOD'S WILL
Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" Matthew 7:21-23. Readers, do you know what “practice lawlessness” means? It means living in sin. Jesus will reject anyone who is living in sin, regardless of how much faith they have. Faith without work means nothing. Why? Because work is evidence of faith.
Readers, do you know what the will of God the Father is? Do you know where you can find the will of God the Father? Here it is. Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17-18. The will of God the Father can be found in His Law, or commandments, and in the Book of His prophets, e.g. the Book of Exodus, Daniel, Isaiah, and God’s other known prophets of the Old Testament.
What can we tell from reading the above passages? Prophesying in His name was not His will; casting out demons was not His will; and doing wonders in His name was not His will either! But obeying His Law is His will; obeying His commandments that He gave to us through His prophets, e.g. Moses, Daniel, and so on; and not changing His command was the will of God the Father. God demands total obedience from us, nothing less. Jesus said in Matthew 5:48, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” I believe that total obedience can lead to perfection.
Why did Adam and Eve lose eternal life? They defied God’s will. They disobeyed God’s commands.
Total obedience is not possible if we do not fear God. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, not because of his faith in God, but because he fears God. When Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son, God said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only [son], from Me." Genesis 22:12.
When Satan appears before God to question our integrity, can God ask Satan, "Have you considered My servant Our Name, that [there is] none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" (Job 1:8) without Satan ROFL? (rolling on the floor laughing).
