PERFECTION
Good morning readers. How are you doing? I hope you are all doing well this morning and prepared to meet and greet Jesus Christ when He returns, soon. I have never met any of you personally here on earth, but I am looking forward to meeting all of you when Jesus returns to welcome Him. This morning I am going to ask your attention to God’s words found in Matthew 5:48, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” I am sure you have heard or read this text before.
What are your thoughts of the possibility of us becoming perfect? Why? Because Jesus said we shall be perfect. But how can we be “perfect” as God the Father is “perfect”?. Can we be “perfect” as God the Father is “perfect”? I think we cannot. Why? Because there are things that He can do that we can never do. And that’s why He gave us His commandments, because there is nothing in His commandments that we cannot do, and He wants us to be perfect in doing His commandments.
Readers, do you see anything that Jesus has taught us in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John that we cannot do?
Do you see anything that God the Father has taught us in His Ten Commandments that we cannot do? No, nothing! God the Father said, by way of Jesus Christ, "Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. "For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30. He wants us to be perfect in doing what we do, in following His command, as God the Father is perfect in sustaining us and giving us life each day.
What prevents us from being “perfect” is our disobedience to Him. And as long as we remain disobedient to Him, we can never become perfect, never!

Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'”
