SUSPECTS
Readers, why do you think Jesus has chosen a disciple, Judas Iscariot, who stabbed Jesus in the back? Do you think Jesus doesn’t know that Judas will betray Him? Do you think that Jesus didn't know that Judas Iscariot would betray Him before He decided to select him as His disciple? I am sure He knew. But why does it have to be one of His workers who does the dirty job, why? I think Jesus must have a reason why He has chosen a traitor to be His disciple or worker. The reason, I believe, is that He wants us to know not to trust every worker who works for Him. They, instead, should be treated as suspects until proven innocent. Just because they work to spread the gospel does not mean that they have Jesus in their heart. Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15. They look at us as their only source of income, or food! Why? Because they have no other source of income other than the offerings from us, that’s why. "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor [can] a bad tree bear good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:16-20.
Their fruits are what they say, teach, or do. The apostle Paul wrote, “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God [is what matters].” 1 Corinthians 7:19. What matters is keeping the commandments of God.
God the Father said, by way of Jesus Christ, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15.
