WHAT IS THE USE?
What is the use of “loving God with all our mind, soul, and heart” if we don’t know how to do it? Readers, what is more important to you, “loving God with all our mind, soul, and heart”, or knowing how to love God with all our mind, soul, and heart? I believe that knowing the latter is God’s will, and that is why I rarely, if ever, hear how to love God with all our mind, soul, and heart preached from the church’s pulpit. People don't care what God's will is. They do what their priest/preacher tells them to do. They do human rituals that they have been accustomed to doing for centuries before they converted to Christianity. Jesus said, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide [is] the gate and broad [is] the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. "Because narrow [is] the gate and difficult [is] the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14. God said, "You shall have no other gods before Me. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:3-6.
Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
Exodus 20:3-6 tells us how to love God with all our mind, soul, and heart.
John 14:15,21-24 gives us the details on how to love God with all our mind, soul, and heart. "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Jesus, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” God the Father said, by way of Jesus, if we keep His commandments we will live with Them when Jesus returns.
God the Father says that we keep His commandments and keep the Sabbath holy, even during times of hardship, but we have ignored it since peacetime. We choose the wide gate and the broad way that leads to destruction. Readers, do you know that God uses the Sabbath to test our obedience to God, the same way that He tested Adam and Eve with a piece of fruit? Take the test and pass it with a grade A+
I am looking forward to meeting and living with Jesus, God the Father, my loved ones, and my readers when Jesus returns. How about you?
