SIN

Jesus was crucified by mistake. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots. Luke 23:34. While dying on the cross Jesus asked His Father in heaven to forgive those who had made Him to suffer on the cross. The Sanhedrin did not know that Jesus was the real Messiah. They accused Him of blasphemy. Consequently, Jesus was crucified. Readers, do you know why Jesus had to ask God the Father to forgive the sin of those who crucified Him? Because Jesus has no authority to forgive sinners. Only God the Father can forgive sin, and no one else. Not even Jesus.
Sin prevents us from entering heaven. Unless God the Father has forgiven our sin no one can enter heaven, none. What does the English Bible translation say sin is? “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” 1 John 3:4. The Indonesian Bible says, “Setiap orang yang berbuat dosa, melanggar juga hukum Allah, sebab dosa ialah pelanggaran hukum Allah.” Sin is a transgression of God’s (Allah’s) law. And lawlessness is the transgression of God’s law in English.
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
Jesus said not everyone who says Jesus, Jesus shall enter the kingdom of heaven except he who does the will of His Father in heaven. These men/women of great faith claimed that they have done wonderful work based on their faith in the name of Jesus and so on, but Jesus said to them, depart from me, I never knew you, who practice lawlessness. They were sinners. They were lawbreakers. This verse tells us that we may have faith as big as the biggest mountain on earth, but if we are lawbreakers we will not go to heaven. This verse tells us that obedience to His law is very important for our salvation, and not our faith. Here we see that obedience to His commandments is more important than faith for our salvation.
Make sure that we will always remember that obedience is more important than faith. Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own [authority]; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” John 14:10.
Jesus’ commandments are God's laws. Many newborn Christians under the influence of the apostle Paul say that the law, the Ten Commandments, are no longer relevant because the "just" shall live by faith. Galatians 3:11. But in Matthew 7:21-23 we see that Jesus rejected these men/women of great faith not because they had no faith, but because they did not do the will of Jesus’ Father. They practice lawlessness.
They were lawbreakers, just like Adam and Eve, the apostle Paul, and millions of others who follow him.
John 1:1,2: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” “I am the Alpha and Omega, [the] Beginning and [the] End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8. His words are eternal.
