FAITH AND OBEDIENCE

Tonight I am going to write on a subject that I feel many of us don’t understand, faith and obedience. We say that we have faith in Jesus, but we don’t do what Jesus tells us to do. We say that we have faith in Jesus’ Father but we don’t do what Jesus’ Father tells us to do. Do you know why? Here’s why. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. “ Ephesians 2:8-9.
Jesus however said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.“ Matthew 7:21.
Paul, aka Saul of Tarsus, contradicted what Jesus said. Is that a “gift from God”? NO! When God says no and somebody else says yes, that is not a gift from God. That is a gift from SATAN.
Again, when God says no, and someone else says yes that is the voice of SATAN!
When your preacher or pastor says some things that are contrary to what Jesus says, or contrary to what Jesus’ Father says, flee from him/her immediately!!!
He/she may look like a movie star makes no difference. FLEE FROM HIM OR HER NOW!
Faith and obedience is one subject, not two. The reason why I say that faith and obedience is one subject is simple. How can you separate the last name from the first name of an individual and get the same individual or the same result? Saul of Tarsus has a different idea. He wrote, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.“ Ephesians 2:8-9. The only person in the Bible that was saved by grace by Jesus that we know is the thief on the cross. He was saved without work because he was dying. How could he work when he will die by the end of the day? Does he think that everyone is saved by faith, grace, and no work? What did Jesus say? Jesus says "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:21-23.
Doing the will of Jesus’ Father is work, not faith. These people who called Jesus Lord, Lord, were all people of great faith who can cast out demons and do wonders in Jesus’ name, but Jesus chased them away, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you evildoers!” Jesus wants them to WORK and do the will of His Father! It’s only through work can you prove your faith in God, unless you are standing in front of a firing squat right now.
Saul of Tarsus doesn’t want to obey, work, just have faith. He tried to separate faith from obedience based on the thief on the cross story. I have a very strong feeling that when Saul was alive he was an unreasonable anti-obedience individual until his death. He cannot think for us. The apostle James said, “faith and no work is dead.” James 2:17,26.
